Genuine question (probably been asked in here before):

would you prefer...

32k sell outs each week

35k attendances with 5k empty seats each week

because that's what I'd suspect we'd get. Tough one I admit, but empty seats kill it a bit for me. Part of what's been great the last few years is it's almost a dream ticket, although realistically that's only the case in a few games. Not that I want people excluded but it heightens the sense of support.

The latter

the more the merrier!!!:scarf:

still think we'd sell out most games @ 40k anyway, so, would only have empty seats at some of the games

the club certainly wouldn't increase if they thought wed only get 35000 as would never get there money back

I guess they'll know at end of this season what to do, if say 3000 give up season tickets and they cant sell them till general sale they wont do it, if like last years , its 300 and on a ballot again and they keep 10000 members , or however many they sold they probably go for it,

Surely the club should have put in for planning permission by now.

As far as I know once it has been granted it lasts for 5yrs, so they

wouldn't even have to commit to the build until they were ready.

Not sure if that link will work but it's basically a list of planning applications on Filbert way. Nothing major has been added on there recently.

Lots of supposed ITK chatter on BR about ground expansion. Along the lines of what i have been told by someone who has no reason to be talking shit.

Maybe something, maybe not.

There's some exciting stuff mentioned in that thread. Even if it is speculation or not.

The one thing that needs to be addressed though is the traffic, it's heavily busy as it is with 32k. A train link around the South Stand or stadium would help to a degree.

That's the only current planning app for a

I hope the Kop is expanded with another tier. Make it a proper end.

Interesting stuff in that thread. Train station & improving the surrounding area even if there's no truth are great ideas.

Massively agree about maintaining the atmosphere and improving it. I think english clubs focus a lot on marketing towards families and bringing in younger generation. I think there's scope for expanding our singing areas - creating a space for them to grow.

I've  long advocated for the opening of a station at the back of the stadium even suggesting the club make big contribution but when you have the county council saying it will cost £175mi to open the line them I can't ever seeing it happen without massive government funding.

£175 million cost of reopening Leicester to Burton rail passenger services 'poor value for money'

If they can make some kind of offer to attract families like free for certain ages, and then cheaper tickets for parents etc

They could tap into the two universities near by and put offers on for them to come down, give them a pint or two and they'd make some noise

This city is a decent size, and we have one major team so there is so much untapped potential

They already do most of that but it's  certainly the right way to go and develop.

The big thing would be to reduce match day prices and make it easier for last minute fans to get tickets.

Defo agree. I mean currently L1 and Union Fs are restricted to an extent for those that want to join the vocal areas due to stadium size which is a big attraction to me and my mates

Depends where that money's coming from for the council to considered good value or not.

Judging from all the cuts they are making and plan to make I doubt they have any. Besides they've continually rejected this so I don't think they have any real inclination to do anything. Based on the potential catchment it seems like a no brainer. A big obstacle is the costs because  railways in Britain seem to need everything you can possibly have on a rail system. What they need is cheap stations like the yanks do with just movable steps to get on and off may be even compromise on the top speed initially to see how it develops.

No doubt it will be a huge project and will require a lot of work to get it approved (council & public) if the club is considering work to the large scale of this.

Im sure if the club are prepared to provide some financial support towards the council there will be some flexiblilty approving the application. Especially if it helps support Soulsbys fantasy of a public transport only Leicester

We will ground share with the Sky Blues 75,000 capacity in case they have another cup run[:D]

From what's being said on BR I'm not sure I'm overly convinced by the design. Think the stadium would look quite odd with additional tiers on the West and North stands and an extra two tiers on the Kop.

I know it's long been argued that the West Stand is difficult to develop but I can definitely see the owners addressing this stand sooner rather than later. From a corporate perspective and as a general centre piece for displaying their wealth the facilities are light years behind the bigger clubs in the Premier League, hence why I think they were considering a move.

I do hope that a train station is part of the plans if the ground is to be expanded as the current site is terrible in terms of transport infrastructure and definitely wouldn't cope with adding another 10/20k extra seats.

What don't I get?

Did Coventry plan to have a 75,000 stadium?

I think it is along the lines that Coventry only get big crowds when they go on a cup run. Like once in thirty years. :D
