Im sure if the club are prepared to provide some financial support towards the council there will be some flexiblilty approving the application. Especially if it helps support Soulsbys fantasy of a public transport only Leicester For it to be worthwhile it needs to include the whole line to get the home fans in and the vast majority of the track is in the county. I believe the government has refused funding on a few occasions. The council's seem to prefer to waste their funds on P&R schemes.

Agree it would be a huge project, probably one too big just to extend a stadium tbh. Dont think the money would come from the government

See the home atmosphere at any of the big clubs, or those like Everton and Villa before them. It's a mixture of satisfaction, tourists and day trippers that dilute the atmosphere. Unless we are hunting the title or cups, or experiencing another relegation battle, I can't see us enjoying any 'fortress' like home atmosphere for years.

I really don't understand why the P&R service's don't service the football ground on a match day. Surely it'd be guaranteed income for 9/10 months of the year and resolve the issues with transportation/parking. The Council in Leicester are one of the most disjointed Council's locally. They could learn a lot from Nottingham on how to build an efficient and effective transport network.

The way to combat that would be when extended to 45-50k, to have a section of say 5,000 allocated to standing /singing where like minded people can gather and create the atmoshere.

Agreed, the premier league is its own worst enemy at times with trying to attract so many people, but losing the fans locally I do think the clappers are gold for us though, everyone clapping does get a good noise going

You could buy half the city and a stadium for that?!

Most spaces there are currently, not many it seems, aren't big enough to build a new stadium; and will probably be more student accommodation etc anyway..

As far as I know once it has been granted it lasts for 5yrs, so they wouldn't even have to commit to the build until they were ready. We need to crack on with plans to expand Massively needed in my opinion
Winsum Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 There is no evidence of a stadium expansion , anything off Bentleysroof is hot air.The current stadium is big enough and a couple of mid table finishes will end the current scramble for tickets

Koke Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 West Brom had 24k attendance against us on Saturday, and they're sitting in 8th in the table. Poor fan base. They haven't averaged 30k since 1959. Sometimes I worry that apathy might set in if we finish 9th for the next three seasons. Our fan base is bigger than West Brom but still...
Stadt Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 Cheap tickets and we'll sell 40k plus everyweek but instead the club are like every other English club that treats fans as customers to be milked
TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 April 2017 Posted 30 April 2017 The important question is, will the stadium still physically bounce when we score?
