Samilktray Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 It's always weird to me how outraged people get over other people preferring Ronaldo. Like preferring 1 of the top 2 players on the planet is outrageous to preferring the other
Guest MattP Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 Messi. Although I would love to see him come out of his comfort zone in the latter stage of his career and try a different club, even if it meant going back home to South America. Clearly the superior footballer for me also a real team player as well, he gives the ball for a penalty to a man who is on a hat trick in the 90th minute, Ronaldo sometimes wouldn't celebrate a goal if he thought he was in a better position to, the selfless and the selfish.
ScouseFox Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 Don't get the selfish thing. He knows he's better than everyone else and he wants to win, and the best chance of them winning is giving him the ball. Not hard. Off the pitch he couldn't be any less selfish. Whilst messi just forgot to pay millions in taxes ronaldo was saving kids lives with his money. Selfish ****.

Nalis Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 In what team though? If it was my A&F Model team then I'd choose Ronaldo every time (is there such a thing as too sexy!?!?). Messi just looks like a young Chris de Burgh so not for me thanks.

Whilst messi just forgot to pay millions in taxes ronaldo was saving kids lives with his money. Selfish ****. I don't think there is any doubt he's selfish on the pitch, that's been proven over the years, yes he's the best but that doesn't always mean you should be shooting or players like Bale and James should be passing up open goals to let him add to his own tally. Messi knows he's better than everyone else as well but I think he realises just how important team spirit and a sense of togetherness is when you want to win trophies, I can't remember which tournament it was but Portugal once went out on penalties to a team without Ronaldo even taking one as he demanded to take the fifth, that's just something that is beyond belief in terms of selfishness on a football pitch. You are right on the last line though, if the question was "Who would you rather write to if you needed a donation to the local kids ward?" then my vote would go to Ronaldo.
Dan Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 If Ronaldo wasn't selfish then Bale or James Rodriguez would take free-kicks. I get that he needs to be pretty greedy to an extent but he is nowhere near the best free-kick taker in that side yet he takes them all.
Guest MattP Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 http://lmgtfy.com/?q=did+ronaldo+donate But it must be true, I saw it on Facebook
Samilktray Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 Ronaldo has done a lot of charitable things over the years so let's not focus on a rumour that he had no power over or input in, being false. That's silly.
Fox92 Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 Probably Messi. Not the best player ever though. Ronaldo has done a lot of charitable things over the years so let's not focus on a rumour that he had no power over or input in, being false. That's silly. Ronaldo seems a nice guy. I think it's in Scholes' book which states Ronaldo just keeps himself to himself etc. People get influenced by things on a football pitch ie his diving. I like Ronaldo.
Dan Posted 16 June 2015 Posted 16 June 2015 Ronaldo does actually strike me as a pretty decent character off the pitch, it's just on it where he can be a bellend.
Jordan Posted 17 June 2015 Posted 17 June 2015 There aren't enough Messi vs Ronaldo arguments on the Internet, to be fair.
Mikey Posted 17 June 2015 Posted 17 June 2015 Ronaldo. Can respect that Messi is a genius and is more creative but the fact that Ronaldo has proved himself in 2 countries tips it his way for me. Messi has played in the best team of my generation. People say that Ronaldo is selfish yet he got the second most assists in the league (2 behind Messi). Also has the most La Liga assists for Madrid and he's been there 5 years which is impressive. Also Messi's new sleeve makes him look more a c*nt and Ronaldo's body looks like Zeus', so there we go. However, since the turn of the year, Messi has been the better player.
Freesolo Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Ronaldo the guy is a beast just feel he offers so much, he could play in any side and score 30 to 40 a season
Raj Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Hear so much crap about Ronaldo being this and being that.If you were as good as him and you can change a game by yourself(as can messi)you too would be a little cocky. All top class sportsfolk have that aura.Id choose ronny
Zapp Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 The problem with messi/Ronaldo debates is that people have their favourite, and disregard the realistic prospect of what they would bring to a team I would have Ronaldo. He's prem proven, has lived here before, has carried his nation, and is a leader. He can bag worldies from 30 yards and leap like a salmon to score towering headers. People fairly question his free kicks at Madrid, but if he was lining up for Leicester with one then you don't question his success rate, you accept we are more likely to score from set peices. But messi is a genius, clinical, majestic, and something positive will happen when he gets the ball. However, unproven in the physical world of the prem. If you take out the personal opinion of who they like more, and decide based on who will improve the points tally for Leicester City at the end of the season, Ronaldo is the logical choice.
Stadt Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Wow I know Messi isn't as athletic but using the physical point, he gets kicked a lot in Spain, so he can deal with it
Danno Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Wow I know Messi isn't as athletic but using the physical point, he gets kicked a lot in Spain, so he can deal with it he makes far better defences than any he will find in the premier league look silly on a weekly basis, of course he would make absolute mincemeat of Ryan Shawcross and Muniesa or whatever he's called.

Dan Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 Physicality getting the better of Messi is one of the finest myths of the lot. He would bag 40 a season in England if he was playing here now, as would Ronaldo.
