RedSoxUK Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Sky sources understand four Premier League clubs have made enquiries about Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani. West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom and Leicester are understood to be interested in the 27-year old Algeria international, who would cost in the region of £7m. New Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is thought to be keen on the player, while David Moyes’ Real Sociedad have also expressed an interest. However, sources close to the forward, who was close to a move to Swansea earlier this summer, say he has a strong desire to play in the Premier League.
RedSoxUK Posted 14 July 2015 Author Posted 14 July 2015 Remember we were supposedly in for him before. Another striker, Nuge replacement?
ScouseFox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 nice enjoyed this one last year happy to go again Remember we were supposedly in for him before. Another striker, Nuge replacement? how many times does nuge need to be replaced considering hes still here lols
benpicko Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Glad we're looking at strikers still. Important position at the moment, according to Cottee. I'd think we need at least two more, so Slimani and Austin would probably be all right, if a little weak.
ScouseFox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 how many players who have ever played for us have all the letters of their first name in their second name?
Voll Blau Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 With Christian Fuchs we'd also have two religions in our team.
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 We need a midfielder, and probably another centre half too, before we sign another striker.
SomalianFox15 Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 I would rather be after different positions but would happily have Slimani. Had a decent world cup with Algeria if I remember correctly.
Carl the Llama Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 We need a midfielder, and probably another centre half too, before we sign another striker. Don't be such an Islamophobe.
hackneyfox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 We need a midfielder, and probably another centre half too, before we sign another striker. Do we need to buy them in some sort of order then?
kingfox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 This guy again Think we're pretty much guaranteed to sign another striker regardless who we have already.
Xen Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 how many players who have ever played for us have all the letters of their first name in their second name? Albert Lee (1 appearance in 1905) No-one else as far as I can tell. Special shout out though to (I presume) Robert 'Bobby' Roberts. Edit: I did this the wrong way round. Albert is the only player who's surname is made up only of letters in their first name. There's likely a few more the way you queried...
Edingleyfox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 We were rumoured to be looking at him last summer. Had good World Cup I think but otherwise has not always played regularly. We already have enough surely in that department particularly compared to the number of quality holding midfield players we have. If we are getting another Striker Austin seems a better choice as good aerial threat and could alternate with Ulloa up front but with 6 strikers at least one would surely go.
Stevosevic Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 We wanted him last year, so would suggest it's still very much walsh leading recruiting. Good sign.
RedSoxUK Posted 14 July 2015 Author Posted 14 July 2015 nice enjoyed this one last year happy to go again how many times does nuge need to be replaced considering hes still here lols Till he leaves.

Carl the Llama Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Being more serious: He seems to get injured with relative frequency, but when he does play he provides goals. Since we're apparently still in the market for a striker, if we can get him cheaper than Austin (and with our sports science team) this could be a very good buy.
ScouseFox Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 i'd rather pay £50m for islam than £15 for charlie austin. i hope we buy at least three more strikers for a laugh.
Guest ttfn Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Somebody crack open the Maynard and Deeney threads whilst we're at it
