Wymsey Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Knows Mahrez, so he might've recommended Slimani to Shakespeare/Walsh.
The Doctor Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 Hopper, Wood and GTF (he counts as 2 aswell) given hopper has one first team appearance in 2012 to his name and GTF played half an hour in centre midfield, you are really stretching to suggest we've lost three strikers. 3 have left the books, but only one played more than a fraction of a match (out of position)
simon789us Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 I'd rather we go for Austin.[/quote Same here silmani injury prone
Beliall Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 nice enjoyed this one last year happy to go again how many times does nuge need to be replaced considering hes still here lols Until he gets the hint
Spicer Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 We already have 5. Okazaki, Kramaric, Ulloa, Vardy and Nugent. I rate Slimani highly but we don't want/need 6 strikers.

filbertway Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Which means Nugent and another must be off. You can't have 4 or 5 strikers who all realistically expect/want to be starting games often. It will just lead to players looking to leave. Looking at it, we must have one of the strongest front lines, in terms of depth of quality outside of the top 8.

Nugent will be competing with Mahrez for the space behind the front two you'd imagine, if we play similar to last year. Can see Ulloa going. Had a massive drought last year and when he's not scoring he's not doing much at all
FireFox Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Watched a stream of him playing last month for Algeria with Mahrez. Sign him up.
Nick Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 I'd have Slimani all day long - quicker than Austin too.
BlueBoy1 Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Can't see why we would get rid of ulloa. Granted he isn't the most clinical but then who was? He is dominant in the air which will be needed if we're playing with width and he can bring in Barry/wingers. He was our top goal scorer...Nuge could go. Would prefer Austin over slimani...anyone who scores 18PL goals In an utter shambles of a team is worth his weight in gold. Slimani is a good player don't get me wrong. *vardy not Barry!
Babylon Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 We wanted him last year, so would suggest it's still very much walsh leading recruiting. Good sign. This was one of the links that Pearson personally rubbished and he usually never says a word about potential targets or links.

Had a massive drought last year and when he's not scoring he's not doing much at all If Ulloa our top goalscorer who scored more than double the rest of our strikers, and more than Nugent and Vardy combined had a "massive drought" what the hell did Vardy and Nugent have? Really don't understand all these fans happy to see Ulloa leave who is an asset in both boxes. Clearly we are looking for another striker, i'd say Nugent is surplus to requirements.
Nick Posted 19 July 2015 Posted 19 July 2015 I'd say we are looking because one or more are targets for other clubs.

Vardy had a massive drought and at the time I wouldn't have minded if he was sold, clearly a mistake, but Nugent was one of the more consistent performers of last season in the position he was playing. Even when the entire team was doing shit, he was doing his best to keep us ticking and provide some creativity: providing some use, even when not scoring, which was what I claimed Ulloa didn't do in his drought. Do you want Mahrez gone as well for not scoring many goals?
lgfualol Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 Not sure what he'd bring to the table that our other strikers wouldn't. Ulloa is pretty much the same type of player though, right?
Stevosevic Posted 21 July 2015 Posted 21 July 2015 According to Talksport rumours, Ranieri wants him. They're about as reliable as Indy

Wymsey Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 How much money do we have? £15m seems too steep, or is that just the going rate these days.
ian_marshall Posted 22 July 2015 Posted 22 July 2015 How much money do we have? £15m seems too steep, or is that just the going rate these days. Looks like 15 is the new 7. As for the article - Newly promoted!!!
