TheSomersetFox Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 I'm officially retiring from this thread. Tincy?
Finnegan Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 One think of note... I'm pretty sure Pearson would of put the blocks on this quite some time ago. He wouldn't of wanted someone who isn't 100% committed to us. Will he go missing on. Wet and windy Wednesday game when we are losing at half time? Will he slap in a transfer request after 1 good season. If we do sign him, I'd need convincing that he would be committed to the cause... Just remind everyone how long the Cambiasso transfer took please bud.
Buce Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Yet you use a semicolon incorrectly yourself? :wohistle: Not to mention the absence of the question mark..

Finnegan Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Yet you use a semicolon incorrectly yourself? The correct way to use a semicolon is to not use a semicolon.
Nick Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 The correct way to use a semicolon is to not use a semicolon. The first rule of semicolon use is never to talk about semicolon use.
adam95581 Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Yet you use a semicolon incorrectly yourself? Semi colons are used to separate two clauses within a sentence...which is exactly as I used it. I'm not going to have a discussion on grammar as my initial comment was to clarify the meaning behind the post and not to be pedantic.
adam95581 Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Not to mention the absence of the question mark.. Fair play - I'll give you that one. Those in glass house and all that

The only way we're going to be someones first choice is if no other decent team wants them. The guys wants to play in Europe and wants to put himself in the shop window over here. He might be disappointed the move to Bayer didn't work out, but it would be in his best interests to put his all into it if he came here.
bmt Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 I can not believe this has come down to a full blown debate about grammar! We really need to sign someone today.
Deucalion Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 The correct way to use a semicolon is to not use a semicolon. Have some compassion, some people have no choice but to use a semicolon. #majorbowelsurgeryisnotalaughingmatter

I'd argue your clauses were not independent. If you don't want a discussion on grammar, don't slate people's grammar, it's a forum, who gives a sh1t?

An Away Move Posted 3 August 2015 Posted 3 August 2015 Might we see a parallel between what's happened with Kante's move and the situation with Aranguiz and his current club?Didn't Kante want a move to Marseille? Only for him to run into the reality that they weren't willing to bid as much as us? Of course Aranguiz might have a big say about where he wants to go (and he's had it), but money talks and we are currently the only club meeting the asking price. Either Leverkusen put the money up and meets his current club's valuation or he stays put, which doesn't look like an outcome that's going to happen. Or he comes to us, or another club who matches what we have offered. Well, I for one, still have some embers of hope flickering... Even if it does seem unlikely at this stage.

I'm not sure I want this fella at our club with his attitude etcHave a feeling he would be a massive flop anyway Mind you hope I'm proved wrong of course
