We go with what we have got

Lot of meltdown posters across the way in Transfers......but surely we are better off than last season at this point?

Lost Cambiasso, Konch, Upson, The Fun Boy three,

Gained Shinji, Fuchs,Huth, Kante, Schlupp & Mahreza year further on,Moore, Chilwell pushing, ALL had one year in the Prem.....

If signings happen then great, but time to get behind what we've got.....COYB!!!

To be fair, we've got ten out of the eleven I'd start even if Aranguiz or Inler did sign.

Vardy Kramaric,

Mahrez,

Fuchs, Kante, King, Albrighton,

Wasyl, Huth, Morgan/Benneh,

Kasper.

Not bad.

I'm not in meltdown, I think us fans get too obsessed with new players since the days of transfer windows and it becoming a soap opera. It's the thrill of a signing rather than the signing itself and what it actually does for a team. For example look at the highs, lows, jubilation and despair of the Kramaric transfer last January, it was painful beyond belief but completely addictive and yet he's contributed the square root of fcuk all so far in terms of results. We currently have a relatively tight squad and yes some improvements are necessary along the way but we're stronger than last season. Cambiasso was an icon and it's hard to not yearn for a big name to cushion the blow of him leaving but we might not actually need to, we don't know. Kante could be sensational, he certainly looks good from what we've sign and heard. I think we're not far off being ready to go, more importantly is Ranieri certain in his mind what to do this season. I hope so.

add to that a subs bench that looks something like;

schlupp, morgan/benny, drinkwater (if he comes good :fc:), surely another centre mid who we sign, nugent, ulloa (our top scorer) & okazaki.

all of whom are easily good enough to be squad players, in fact it's harsh that some aren't first choice.

We'll surely be fine with what we have for the games up until the window closes. I expect at least 5 points from these. We are getting a lot of negative press re Ranieri, and we should use this as an "everyone is against us" motivator to galvanise the team.

As said above, people are way to obsessed with the transfer window. Be interesting to see which of the new signings of passed seasons really made a massive impact to teams in our position.

I'd still welcome another midfielder to the squad. Our resurgance was helped by Cambiasso's increasing influence as well as Huth's leadership at the back, we've secured Huth but feel we need reinforcement in midfield in order to have that degree of composure (and modest goal return) there.

Yep, Midfield is worrying. For Saturdays game especially and it really is a game we could do with winning.

Has he tried Fuchs as a wingback in pre season or just centrally on the left of the back three?

That's about the team I'd like to see start though I do reckon I'd play Okazaki rather than Kramaric.

If Wes remains Captain I'm thinking he'll start which sort of gives me the impression that we'll play 4 at the back when leading a game or against the bigger sides which makes me a bit nervous.

Agree completely about Saturday, our midwinter is very very very bleak and we need to accumulate as many points as possible before that horrific run of fixtures hit. I've never seen him play but I'd throw Kante straight in and go toe to toe with Sunderland's midfield, their attack is still as blunt as ever but we don't want to be in a game which fizzles out as we struggle to boss the centre of the park.

Our starting games are relatively easy.

We should be targeting 10 points from the opening 5 games. With the squad we've got, and the momentum from last season (I'm not convinced about that, but hope It works) this is achievable IMO.

We don't know what's going to happen, there won't be another midfield before Saturday but there will be before the end of the window.

We've still got 10/11 players that won 7/9 at the end of the season so let's not write them off yet.

Decent starting 11 for Saturday and a very strong bench to choose from, as August closes out more players will become available especially from European clubs that don't do well in preliminary rounds of competitions, not sure if we can still add to our squad for the Premier league though (do we have to submit 25 names).

Still think Ranieri will sign 2 more decent players....

As the mist and fog patches of Pearson's sacking are clearing it seems to me that our owners are determined to start establishing our presence on the glittering stage of world football.

Times I've read how we've no chance of signing this player or that because of competition from Champions League competitors and other five-star opposition only to find that we've stuck in there and are  making life mighty uncomfortable for anyone set on muscling us away.

It's what I've dreamed of since the days when MON decided we weren't big enough for his own ambitions.

Well, our new owners appear to have no such inhibitions and why should they?

Leicester is brilliantly set and positioned to be as great a club as its own desires given the benefit of sound judgement and I just hope that Ranieri can make the best of the kind of opportunity that might have written MON's name in brighter lights than he'll ever achieve now.

No I don't if our latest targets will sign. But we're in there like bulldogs for a beefsteak and I don't think many will deter us. Exciting days.

personally think kante kicking everyone, kingy completing 99% of his passes and mahrez being great at everything could be a tidy midfield trio

Yep same here.

I reckon Kante could be a big signing for the club.

Why are people putting Fuchs (unconvincing in pre season) in over Schlupp (Player's player)?

Genuine question, not nibbling. Seen it several times now. Have I missed something?

We are definitely looking more in a position to do well than last season. This is in part due to some excellent signings, but as we have the same core of players as last season, they will be much aware of what is required to succeed in the Premiership - the fantastic run will give them great confidence they CAN compete at this level.

I am genuinely excited!

could equally say why would anyone put schlupp (had one half good season in his life) over fuchs (champions league and international experienced), no?

I'd have schlupp for Sunderland and think they could both be used regularly depending on who we play, what formation we use etc etc

Because the 1 half a season was the most recent half a season! The bloke was/is in exceptional form. Be mad to drop him! Especially for someone who doesn't look settled yet. But see what you're saying. Good options for 442 I reckon.

yeah that's why I'd roll with him, try and keep it as similar to last season as possible. if it ain't broke etc.

but equally quite a lot are dropping ulloa and vardy and quite a few don't want Morgan even in the squad. all boss at the end of last year.

can see either side to it and imagine we will see both sides of it through the season.

absolutely. Ulloa's a nightmare to call - I think we'll be more dangerous going forward without him, but much weaker defending set pieces without him. Getting a bit nervous just thinking about selection choices on Sat now!
