Moonstomp Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 If any of you have been to either of the Manchester ones or the Liverpool one then I reckon you see them as a good idea ... Close to the ground and thins out the concourse enough to make it worthwhile. They are three clubs with large home gates that the local pubs struggle to cope with so its a good business model for them. The club tried this before the Real Madrid friendly and then the first home game ( with Jamie Afro as entertainment ) and put entertainment on and it worked well so I hope it's a success as it's another example of the club trying to move us forward.

fuchsntf Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Some of our fans really do drive me to insanity with their instant negativity about absolutely EVERYTHING. The license hasn't even been agreed yet, and already its been written off by some. Give it a chance for god sake and actually wait to hear the exact plans before dismissing it. It works in many stadiums or arenas around Europe, with some good choices of beer, and food. plus the plastic club beckers, are worth holding onto. Many in the UK seem to have taken to the Christmas markets, so I see no reason why it shouldnt take off. Might help to lighten the aggressive attitude around grounds. There will be some fans that dont mix, but around Dortmund Bayern, etc it seems ok.Winter period...warms the cockles ..so to speak.
Wymsey Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Hope they give out free Pukka pies, not Heineken crap, in the next promotion.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Good idea, would be good to have a pre match sing song at home games
Wymsey Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 We already go to the bars etc within the stadium. Think it's targeted more towards families with young kids who can run around and shout.
SystonFox Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 It's fun to stay at the YMCA (It's funny cos it was a song by the village people) We already go to the bars etc within the stadium. Think it's targeted more towards families with young kids who can run around and shout. Yeah man can't wait to take my lad so he can run around and shout
purpleronnie Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Can't we have a fan town, village's are so tin pot.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 August 2015 Posted 6 August 2015 Hope they do it the right way. Put the focus of the entertainment on football, nothing else. It won't feel like a pre-match event otherwise. depends if its going to be £4.50 a pint like the ones in the ground... I don't think it will be. Once people are in the ground they have nowhere else to go so the food outlets can get away with charging high prices. Not the case outside the ground so it might be a bit lower. Man City do it well for there fans. I didn't like Man City's personally. With the stage they had set up it felt more like a music festival than a place to get geared up for the football.
Lionator Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Get some beer flowing, hog roast on and a decent covers band playing and it's a decent idea.

I'm going back nearly 6 years when I saw there's so it's probably changed a lot since then. I remember them having a big beer tent, a few TV screens, I think they had a couple of playstations for the kids to play on, then a stage area where they did games between the opposition fans.
Bayfox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 If done well it would be a good idea. Biggest problem being, they have to decide what market they are catering for. Ie familys, then inflatables, kids food, mini football etc great. But if you just want to pull a few adults out a pub, then cheap beer it is.
