Phillips mentions Players Only meeting

Recommended Posts

A few bitter people on forums doesn't really count as evidence.

The Birch and now Kevin Phillips have both strongly hinted at player control, nothing to do with forum posters.

Do you enjoy making things up? Is that how you get your enterainment?

As per previous reply.

Well no, no they haven't.

Shame they didn't have the meeting earlier if they were so controlling, could've saved us all that bother of being bottom for so long.

Yeah they did, you're dead right.

They also hinted you're a dingbat. They didn't need to say it, it's what they were implying though.

Have you heard the interview?

Didn't realise there were still quite so many anti-Pearson on here. They are all coming out now he isn't here to prove them wrong again. One of our best ever managers. Here's hoping Claudio can carry on his good work.

Nobody has on here, not stopping certain people from making out Pearson wasn't in control like the horse shit about Cambiasso being in charge

Listening to it on the TalkSport website-

"Players deserve lots of credit"

Talked about Vardy, Okazaki, Mahrez and potentially signing Inler

Cambiasso did well, players have stepped up after he left.

Ranieri- very professional, thorough, can lose his temper, players enjoying it

The players meeting was in response to a question about the Sunderland "crisis" meeting- players "had it out" amongst themselves, coaching staff were preparing training at the time.

doesn't really matter what some keyboard warriors say because they're gutted NP proved them wrong after writing him off. Most of our fans recognise NP as one of our best ever managers, even though he was controversial. I liked that about him myself.

Looking forward to seeing him succeed in his next role and hope he goes on to be successful elsewhere, fingers crossed he keeps clear of Derby and Forest.

Onwards and upwards now, building on the strong foundations he has laid for LCFC. We are all behind Ranieri and hopeing he keeps it up!

How is having an opinion "bitter"? i didn't rate the bloke and neither did many of the players judging by this and our current form - his sacking hardly disrupted the motivation levels has it?

Doesn't make any sense you dullard. Did you see the form at the end of the season?

I know, lets just think about everything Pearson did at this football club - on and off the field - and put it all down to a player or two. That better? It seems people love to blame Pearson for the negative stuff but all the positive stuff isn't his work. You can't have it both ways. And it's so annoying. Just admire what Pearson did and move on. Move on, that's what people like me - "Pearsonites" - are told to do isn't it, yet we aren't the ones constantly bringing him back up.

Hadn't realised the pro Pearsons would react quite so personally. Glad we agree that Claudio is doing good work.

Can read whatever you like in to that though.

Applying that logic, he also said it's "quite remarkable" we've managed to continue our form form last season with a new manager in place. Clearly doesn't think much of Claudio then and neither do the squad. Clearly.

Surely it would be a good indicator that Pearson is a decent manager and very good at building a squad if the players he has brought in have enough initiative and resolve to do that sort of thing. Whether or not you liked him you'd have to be very weird to not appreciate Pearson has done a very good job.

Having said that it's almost entirely irrelevant now because Ranieri is I'm charge.

I see it as players taking responsibility and not being afraid to criticise. We often hear of teams who are too nice, good mates who won't point out weaknesses or upset each other, maybe our squad were prepared to spell out some home truths?

It might not necessarily have been some grand master plan of plotting a survival run, just a frank discussion about what was required to help improve things?

If it works I hope they do it again and it has the same effect (hopefully from a stronger league position).

Pearson has gone (thank god), just move on and look forward to what i hope will be one of our most successful seasons in history.
