hackneyfox Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Apologies if already posted but on Talksport this morning Kevin Phillips referred to a players only meeting that took place immediately before the remarkable turnaround of last season. Didn't hear it myself, did he really mention this or has someone twisted his words?
ImBlue Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Apologies if already posted but on Talksport this morning Kevin Phillips referred to a players only meeting that took place immediately before the remarkable turnaround of last season. Didn't hear it myself, did he really mention this or has someone twisted his words? It was Nigel's idea though
foxfanazer Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 What are you trying to imply?Think that's pretty obvious
Corky Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Good on the players for getting together to try and make things better. We want players to take responsibility don't we?
lgfualol Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 It was Cambiasso taking over from Nigel obviously. He was like "follow me and not Nigel" and then we survived.
matty98 Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Just shows the lads we have here really do care about the club
hackneyfox Posted 17 August 2015 Author Posted 17 August 2015 Surely the question should be 'What was Philips implying?' I didn't hear it so wanted to know what was actually said and implied, what was the question that he responded to?
EnglishOxide Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Think that's pretty obvious I know, but **** me I can't believe people are still trying to do this.
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 This is pretty standard, surely? Would imagine it was lead by Wes?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 It was Cambiasso taking over from Nigel obviously. He was like "follow me and not Nigel" and then we survived. I doubt that happened... Nigel and Cambiasso seemed to have great respect for each other...
Frank to be Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Another part of the mounting evidence that Pearson's authority at the club was heavily diminished prior to his inevitable departure.
egg_fried_rice Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 I doubt that happened... Nigel and Cambiasso seemed to have great respect for each other... I think you missed the sarcasm in his post directed at the weird posters who seem to have an obsession with a smear campaign against Pearson, despite the fact it's history now.
lgfualol Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 I doubt that happened... Nigel and Cambiasso seemed to have great respect for each other... I know, but it didn't stop people on here saying that Cambiasso was the one that "drew out a plan" for survival and Nigel let him take charge. It was hilarious way of trying to bash Pearson.
hackneyfox Posted 17 August 2015 Author Posted 17 August 2015 What I want to know was why Philips mentioned it.
Max Power Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 I wonder if Cambiasso is still managing the team now? via Skype from Greece.
ImBlue Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 What I want to know was why Philips mentioned it. I'm not even sure why it's relevant. The slump in form wasn't due to the lack of effort from the players, but down to bad luck, shoddy team selections, formations and substitutions.
Mark_w Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Another part of the mounting evidence that Pearson's authority at the club was heavily diminished prior to his inevitable departure. A few bitter people on forums doesn't really count as evidence.
fantastic_mr_fox Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Because Nigel wasn't a very good premiership manager who didn't know what his best team was or what the best tactics were.
Harry - LCFC Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Another part of the mounting evidence that Pearson's authority at the club was heavily diminished prior to his inevitable departure. Do you enjoy making things up? Is that how you get your entertainment?
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Another part of the mounting evidence that Pearson's authority at the club was heavily diminished prior to his inevitable departure. ... Reaaaallly?
Stadt Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Probably generic football manager type stuff which 23 players reacted well too.
dylanlegend Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Yeh just like the players only meeting at the start of our league one season and record breaking championship winning season. Pearson what a cr*p manager.... Good job the players only meeting turned things around.
Babylon Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 YAWWWWWWWN. Same old goons, same old bull shit. Absolutely pathetic.
