Change of opinion from others

Recommended Posts

I know its very early days, but it's nice to see the change of opinion about us from different fans, pundits and the media. A few of my mates who basically wrote us off when Claudio came in, have all of a sudden bigged us up as a steady, exciting team to watch, most of whom support the like of arsenal, man utd, Liverpool etc, and a man city friend of mine even went as far as saying we are that direct when we go forward we are gonna scare a lot of sides. Very refreshing to hear from people who are starting to recognise that we aren't afraid to have a go at teams

I always admitted Ranieri was the best of a 'bad' bunch looking at the list of candidates when he was announced, I didn't really want anyone on the bookies list though.

I wasn't too happy or keen, but that's because I thought NP shouldn't have gone.

My main issue with brining Ranieri in was that he won't be here long - That still remains to be seen.

Now in the two games he has impressed me, proved me wrong so far but it has only been two games, of course long may it continue, and despite what people think because of my disappointment when he was announced I do want him to do well, prove me wrong, and whats more prove me wrong about the longevity concerns (Provided he's doing well, but if he's here for a long time you would presume he's doing a good job).

They're idiots. If they did some research pre-season they'd never be so sure about us going down.

I have a theory that it's just too easy to call us relegation fodder.

We're not super passionate perfect-football-fan northerners.
We're not 'massive' Londoners.
We're not minute like Burnley and Bournemouth who will obviously stay up because everyone else underrates them, they have more team spirit than everyone else because they've got a load of crap British players.

We're not Villa who apparently are a sleeping giant with their massive crowds of.....34,000 (3,000 more than us!)

We've only been promoted in the last 2 years.

Our manager hasn't been whoring himself out to every Premiership club for the last 5 years so he must be a moron.

This does my head in tbf.

Especially as our fans are bloody good and positive compared to most!

Two games. We've played two games. Two ****ing games.

Exactly, the first two games have proved how stupid a lot of people are.

How can so many go from saying we're very likely to go down to saying we're a really good side in 2 games?

We still might go down, but what's annoying is people clearly had no idea about us when they decided we would struggle. Now they've seen us twice it's a surprise we don't look awful.

3 Spurs fans in the office, all expecting defeat on Saturday. Times have certainly changed.

Same here Lovejoy. I'd love it we beat Spurs. Love It !(in the league) and now the trendy plastic b**stards have gone and made themselves the underdogs and stolen my thunder. They can't lose! They will do anything to avoid saying well done. Fu**n ate spurs.

The pundits made the same mistake a lot of our fans made.

They confused the opinion that Pearson shouldnt have gone with Ranieri being a bad appointment.

If they had looked at the appointment without the baggage of Pearsons sacking, given CR's club record it should be virtually impossible to call it a bad appointment. Every club he's been at, he's left in a better position than when he's arrived and some of those clubs were in a far worse position than we are in.

We're going to have to accept we'll be amongst the favourites for relegation for a while yet as long as we remain in this division. Even a solid club like Stoke have only recently shaken off the tag of being in the group of favourites to be relegated.

Kitch makes some good points about the view of us from the outside but we are also still adapting to this level and will still be viewed with uncertainty.

The rubbishing of Ranieri's career has been poor, though.

I agree with you agreeing that the other person agrees with someone else if that helps. However I do disagree with the original poster so I have completely contradicted myself, Please send gin.
