kingcarr21 Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 He probably did give him some advice. Most likely it was sound advice aswel.

TheUltimateWinner Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 So it wasn't cambiasso it was Fergie really managing the team... explains a lot really Nah, Cambiasso ft Fergie dream team
Captain... Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I was going to post that, Fergie told Nigel to show us that he cared, so really it was down to us, once we found out Nigel cared, we cared and we inspired the greatest of all mother fvckin' comebacks. Which makes sense as we are still here and Nigel isn't and we are still awesome. Go us!
m4DD0gg Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Was probably more on the lines of 'sort yourself out you are embarrassing yourself week after week in front of millions of people'.
Fox92 Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Was probably more on the lines of 'sort yourself out you are embarrassing yourself week after week in front of millions of people'. "I felt he was a little bit too casual," said Ferguson. "I said 'Your team is bottom of the league and you have to show your anger a little bit. The fans want to see you care.' We all know what Ferguson was like. His handling of the media was just like Pearson's.
Foxymcoxy Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 There was a bit of Fergie in some of those press conferences. Partly to blame for getting him the sack you might speculate.
Captain... Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 There was a bit of Fergie in some of those press conferences. Partly to blame for getting him the sack you might speculate. He said on goals on Sunday that the incident with McArthur and the press room spats were nothing to do with his sacking. I think when Fergie told him to show he cared, he meant don't be so defensive and closed in press conferences, it is your window to the fans and he was very often dismissive and reluctant to give any insight into his decisions and what was going on at the club.
DB11 Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34311859 Interesting little bit 'Show the fans you care, Nigel'Ferguson revealed how he likes watching the pre-match news conferences and how he sometimes gives advice to managers facing the cameras, including to Leicester manager Nigel Pearson when City were struggling to avoid relegation from the Premier League last season. "I felt he was a little bit too casual," said Ferguson. "I said 'Your team is bottom of the league and you have to show your anger a little bit. The fans want to see you care.' "He improved after that and so did his team. He did a great job." Leicester avoided relegation but Pearson was sacked in the close season.

Samilktray Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I've still got his last book that I picked up and haven't bothered reading yet. Is it any good?
Guest MattP Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I've still got his last book that I picked up and haven't bothered reading yet. Is it any good? Nope, it makes him sound like he has lost his marbles. He again says RVP could have been killed by a football hitting him, he says that David Moyes is the man for the job and he'll deliver league title after league title and he says the group of youngsters he left in Smalling, Jones, Janujaz, Wilson and Bebe are the greatest he has ever had and will surpass the class of 92'. No wondered he wanted to get another one out quickly.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 the excerpts I read all seemed very bitter about former players, it just seemed like a book of him giving out about people he'd ****ed over.

TrentFox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 The arrogance and egocentricity of the man is quite something. We did some work with one of their very well known strikers a few years ago. His game improved rapidly and a tabloid did a piece on that player, asking him what he attributed his improvement to. He mentioned us - of his own volition. As soon as we opened for business the next day some poor lass on reception got a call and both barrels suggesting we were trying to steal the credit for the hard work of his coaching team !!! Whilst I wouldn't want to have him as a diplomat, it is an attitude that undoubtedly helped in his success, though.
Guest MattP Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 What did he say about Jones? He could be "Manchester Unted's best ever signing"? Something like that, along the lines of it will make the £18million paid for Van Nistelrooy look pricey, I didn't get through even half of the book as it really was just total nonsense only a Man Utd fan could take seriously.
LCFC FOX Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Pearson obviously had a good relationship with Ferguson. SAF trusted him with his youth players. So no doubt it's true.
shailen Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 People said it was crazy when some of us suggested that he was doing a Fergie/Jose and creating a siege mentality, but clearly there was some plan behing his outbursts. Like I said at the time, it was strange for someone who was so composed in interviews to act in this way spontaneously. Especially the ostrich one, in the middle of our great escape, he used that to fuel the players into thinking everyone was out to get us after the disappointment of losing to Chelsea.
