Not really bothered because I don't use them. Nobody can doubt they get people involved with the atmosphere though - which was a big problem before - which is the main thing.

I just wish these people wouldn't clap along to Uptown Funk before the game.

I say keep them, although I always manage to rip mine! How about stopping fans leaving early and blocking my view, muppets almost stopped me from seeing our second!

Careful, I once criticised people leaving early and got told off. Apparently they all have either:

A) a very important meeting.

B) a train to catch

C) school in the morning.

Can't understand it myself. PLASTICS!

Waiting, ready for the abuse now.

And so you should. What a ridiculous post. Some of us live miles away. Wouldn't consider myself plastic, mind, I still go home and away. Didn't leave early yesterday but don't see why it bothers other people.

Because a lot more people left early yesterday because we were losing than did against Villa, Spurs and Sunderland.

Yes some people need to leave early but a lot more "need to" leave early when we are losing/have lost, than need to leave when we are winning.

Yes it is good that there is more noise but the problem is that it is artificial and not a nice sound. I would rather hear people singing and clapping but if that isn't going to happen this is the next best option.

As for the clappers, they make such a difference because a handful of people dotted around using clappers makes a much bigger noise then a handful of people clapping. If you are in a block of people all singing and clapping you don't need them but in the other areas they make a massive difference.

As for uptown funk yesterday was the first time I heard it, and that was only just, because every other game the clappers completely drowned it out, I have no idea who starts the clapping but if it means I can't hear the song then clap along.

Not really a fan to be honest. And having them every home I have a feeling might not work because they may turn into being a norm, meaning their actual positive effect on the atmosphere might decrease. Not keen on the clapping along Uptown Funk either. But, if we have to use them, please let's just keep them at home games and not away games. I genuinely thought last season they would just be for then, and not this season. I feel they should just be for occasions, not every home match but that's just my opinion. I can understand why people like them though, and I suppose the clappers are good for people to get more involved in the atmosphere.

My use of the word 'plastics' was to a certain degree tongue in cheek as I find it amusing how many times its used on this forum.

However.

I still don't understand how leaving 7 mins early can be of such a great benefit? Ok if there is only one train home and that's at 4:53 and the only way you can get it is to leave early. But I can't believe the couple of thousand that left early ALL get that train.

Cue the, "I pay my money, I can chose when I leave".

Ok fair enough, just don't stand in other peoples way, people who paid their money and are still trying to watch the match till the end.

Uptown funk is the cringiest shit I've ever seen at a football ground. Don't mind the clappers overall, think they helped us especially last season. But yesterday I went with my Arsenal mate and I was actually embarrassed at us for doing it. At least they didn't repeat at half time yesterday anyway

It's a dreadful piece of music (if you can call it that). Mark Ronson needs putting in the boot of a car and driving into a lake.

The club play the batman theme with the fox images and the history highlights (which is all quite rousing imo) and then ruin any sense of intimidation by playing this jolly, upbeat heap of crap. #fearless it certainly ain't.

Why can't people just let other people use the clappers if they want and stop moaning about them. If you don't like them don't use them, it's as simple as that.

Not really a fan, but without them the ground is like a graveyard most of the time, imagine the ground without a drum, clappers, and us in the bottom 3?

This way those that want to use them can, Those that don't , don't have too...

It get's the usually quiet families involved because the kids love them, and all in all adds to the atmophere.

Keep.

Jesus, why are some fans so obsessed with being getting respect from other fans and being cool in our support?. I think some people are still in football firm mode.

This is not the 1970s, the demographic of the football crowds have changed. The likes of Stoke and Leeds are not going to come and be impressed and intimidated by the alpha male butch crowd at the KP.

The point of good home support is to make noise and encourage the players to get forward and attack. We have got plaudits for having the best atmosphere in the PL (yes, better than Palace, shock horror) and it's due to the clappers. Keep them - other teams will be copying us soon enough.

Agree with the he comments about people standing in the way by leaving early.

If you went to the Cinema or the theatre you wouldn't get up before the end and push past everyone, and block their view so why the fook do you do it at the football.

What I was disappointed with yesterday was so many people leaving early. We have just been on an amazing run. I thought fans would want to show appreciation for the effort the players showed over the last couple of months. We where never going to not lose a game! i and a lot of fans gave them a standing ovation. COYB.

Shouldn't the stewards do something about it? They all stand around the floor area in front of the stairs going back into the concourse.

Personally I'm not arsed if they go early, usually it's the ones who rock up after kick off, head down 5 mins before half time, come back 5 mins after the second half has started and then go early, their choice but everyone has to stand to let them shuffle in, out of their seat.

They see maybe 70 minutes of a game and over a season will miss countless goals, they pay their monies...

Got hit by one at the game on Saturday against arsenal in the east Stand . Someone threw one from the back of the stand and it hit me on the head , cutting my head it hurt !!. It hit me at the base so was quite solid force with speed .

I thought I would call the stadium on Tuesday , they told me they had passed safety regulations . I explained if it hit some in the eye you would possibly be blind - they man from customer service said it passed safety tests so that was that !!!!
