If you don't like them they're probably not for you - they're for the people who don't/can't make a noise on their own. Watching the Villa game I was with my granma who's got arthritis and pretty much lost her voice, there was a family of kids a few seats down and the clappers got them involved with the game.

Saw quite a few launched onto the pitch at the linos and into the away section, aswell as in the home end. Also saw several people get hit on the head by them so it's only a matter of time before one has somebody's eye out. Might not be heavy, but they're sharp. I really do despair at some of our "fans".

But people don't clap or sing - love them or hate them, these things are getting more people involved in the game and contributing towards a much better atmosphere. Can't understand why anyone wouldn't want that.

The song is doggo as **** and clapping along to anything like that in time is horrendous. I'm not a fan of this whole 'cringe' and 'laughing stock' finger-pointing that's goes on but Uptown Funk + synchronised clapping = the feeling of wanting a massive hole to open up and swallow the entire crowd. ****, that, shit.
