Pearson gardening leave?

Recommended Posts

I saw it mentioned on here from someone appearing to be ITK that no compensation package was agreed with pearson and he is basically still being paid his normal salary every month as he was before. If this is the case, will he still be entitled to any bonus payments should we stay up etc? Seems a bit surreal but suppose all the hard work Shakespeare and Walsh are still putting in will benefit pearson still if so.

Not heard that before but maybe we had to be generous to stop him from speaking to the papers about what happened etc, so would make sense if was a deal like that

when he was on goals on sunday he mentioned NDA's. it could be the case he is but the statement said terminated his contract. they may have paid him off for it. makes no sense to keep him on gardening leave with money coming when they can pay it all upfront. this aint Rangers

Yeah but he can't join another club while on gardening leave. Unless he basically resigns. He is still technically employed by the club I heard on here a while back. But the moment he joins another club we stop paying him his salary. So it could work out cheaper for the club. Could explain why he hasn't joined another club yet - he's getting paid for doing nothing at the moment. He isn't likely to get the same money here as elsewhere. If that person who said all this before could clear things up that would be good. Can't remember who it was who said it

Yes, he's on Gardening Leave.

I have sources at the club that know my family (say what you want) who told us this.

He's apparently, still, thinking about taking the club to court over something.

It could make perfect sense if you want to keep all his staff... if he can't work, they can't move to go with him anywhere.

Who knows, the press haven't got a sniff of it and keep linking him to jobs, he also said himself he was ready to get back in, so probably rubbish.

How?

Oh right, ok. Thank God - I thought someone was going to imply Shakespeare and Walsh are still working hard just so Pearson can receive a few bonuses..

Pretty standard this now until they find another job.

I've heard the same as Wymeswold, he's still mulling his options and won't rush into anything.

Making an Eiffel Tower out of a mole hill if you ask me.

The Thais won't care. They are rich enough to let him see out his contract whilst he misses out on the potential of other jobs.

How it works is that Pearson or any manager is told to leave, but the contract still remains in place.

In all probability, Pearson is still being paid by the club.

The club may well have offered a percentage of the rest of the contract to entice him to terminate it, but it is unlikely that Pearson will take it and will still be paid monthly, including bonuses etc until he decides it in his interest to take the clubs offer.

In all probability what will happen is that he will be offered another job on much less money, but will feel the need to continue with his career and go to LCFC and see if they can negotiate out of his contract, which could be say half of the money outstanding.

I very much doubt that at this point Pearson has reached an agreement on his contract with the club and is keeping awfully quiet as his contact will stipulate confidentiality in all matters.

The club will be desperate for him to get another job so they can save money and clear the contract, but Pearson is probably just enjoying the break on full money and bonuses until he gets the job that he wants and when he wants.

Basically when a manager gets sacked, unless they have done something wholly inappropriate, they aren't really sacked, they are still paid but told not to come in.

Pearson spoke about a "settlement" in the GOS interview which obviously makes it sound like he's not on gardening leave.

I suppose it makes sense financially if he is, if it means the club don't have to buy him out of his contract, but I doubt it would stop him joining another club. I suspect he hasn't got a new job yet because he hasn't had any offers rather than because he is on gardening leave.

Smells like bullshit and sounds bollocks to me. He was sacked end of.

he was officially ' relieved of his first team duties"

Posted

As well as he did towards the end of last season/L1/Champ seasons, he still won't get any PL job due to his persona and the way he is with the media.

As MPH stated, he was relieved of his duties and no longer team manager of LCFC. His contract remains in place, bonuses and all !.

He can choose between going to work for another football club or speaking out or going to court all of which break the terms of the contract which is then nullified. If LCFC don't pay him the contract terms and bonuses agreed then they have broken the contract, hence that was what the court thing was all about.

Makes sense from the owners who probably felt they has been dishonoured and didn't want him moving staff early doors or disrupting the team to keep him in a content silence. Enough time passes and he would struggle to gain a new position with a new competing club or influence existing players.

Anyone think Nige is still managing the team?

Ranieri is just the front man for the media, all makes sense now.

Even more perfect.

Pearson - Signings and pick team.

Ranieri - Media work and touchline.

Dream Team.

or it could be down to the fact the jobs going have had other managers ringfenced for a while.
