Pearson gardening leave?

Recommended Posts

How it works is that Pearson or any manager is told to leave, but the contract still remains in place.

In all probability, Pearson is still being paid by the club.

The club may well have offered a percentage of the rest of the contract to entice him to terminate it, but it is unlikely that Pearson will take it and will still be paid monthly, including bonuses etc until he decides it in his interest to take the clubs offer.

In all probability what will happen is that he will be offered another job on much less money, but will feel the need to continue with his career and go to LCFC and see if they can negotiate out of his contract, which could be say half of the money outstanding.

I very much doubt that at this point Pearson has reached an agreement on his contract with the club and is keeping awfully quiet as his contact will stipulate confidentiality in all matters.

The club will be desperate for him to get another job so they can save money and clear the contract, but Pearson is probably just enjoying the break on full money and bonuses until he gets the job that he wants and when he wants.

Basically when a manager gets sacked, unless they have done something wholly inappropriate, they aren't really sacked, they are still paid but told not to come in.

only in football could you lose your job but "paid not to come in."

would love to see me try and pull that one off at my office job.

i always thought he had been paid off but had to sign papers to say he wont blab.

his daughter posted a tweet a few months ago saying.

"i'll be glad when we can finally say just what a corrupt club it really is "

it was done late at night and removed very quickly

That could of course be true, or it could just be sour grapes at her brother and dad getting the sack

I have visions of nige rolling up to training occasionally, lashed up and going for ranieri, yelling for the Thais to come out and face him and shaky and Walsh holding him back telling him "it's not worth it nige".

You were up late at night refreshing Pearson's daughters twitter?

Or maybe you're just shit stirring?

I think it's more like

nige walks into training ground

Nige "shakeeeeeeeeey"

shakey "oh hi Nigel"

nige "what's going on, Schlupp still giving you trouble?"

Shakey "yes"

Nige "you know what they say about schluppo, you can tell when he's dribbling, his legs move"

Shakey, "ha, right, yes, quite"

Nige [moving over to Ranieri] "grrrr it's the fella who nicked me job"

Ranieri, "didn't nicked it, you got put on gardening leave"

Nige, "naaaaaaaah didn't want it didn't want it anymore, don't be, you, would you jump on my grave so quickly?"

Ranieri, "pizza?"

Nige, "bit dry innit"

Ranieri, "if you don't know me by now, you'll never ever ever know me"

Nige, "no you won't, come on Nelson let's go"

I woke up to a text today saying the same thing, something along the lines of "just a few months til we can expose that corrupt club for what it is"

Not quite a MTWG transcript but a good effort

Try joining a rival company and see what happens. It's called gardening leave.

Anyone think Nige is still managing the team?

Ranieri is just the front man for the media, all makes sense now.

Nah mate, Cambiasso Skypes in the tactics before in each game.

What's the worst that could happen if Pearson took us to court?

Fvck all. He hasn't got a leg to stand on and even if he somehow wins unfair dismissal it'll be a tiny amount of compensation. Personally I think the idea that he's considering legal action is all bollox anyway, and if he was he would had done something already, Any possible legal action would have been negated in the settlement he discussed in his interview on goals on Sunday recently.

What a way to sour everything we had (bit gay I know) if he were to take things to court, or similar. He needs to move on and I suspect he hasn't at all.

Hard to move on when he's out of work and stewing at home .....   watching the TV ...  with his lad sitting next to him ...    and the missus saying   "Have either of you got a job yet ?".

And we're 5th in the Prem !!!!!
