Did anybody watch this last night? First one of a series.

Was a really good watch and had some funny parts. Gary Neville finding out the club was using a dodgy sky box was hilarious

Can't help but like Gary Neville even though I hated him as a player

And yes, I really like Gary Neville, having loathed him during most of his playing career. Actually like Phil aswell. Nick Butt didn't say a single word. Not one.

Recorded it. Excited to watch it, should be good.

Gary Neville comes across very clever. Easily the best pundit around.

Just this second finished watching it. Brilliant watch. I'd be buzzing if my local team got taken over by them lot. Some of those fans need a slap.

thought it was an alright watch.

interesting discussion though. if you were a fan what would your opinion be? the people who were/are "diehard" salford city fans, the volunteers etc making the teas and washing the lads boots or whatever floats their boats clearly aren't interested in top level football week in, week out. or like one said they'd just go to man united. they don't want to pay 70 quid to watch their team on a sunday lunchtime and everything else that comes with progressing up the league. they clearly quite enjoy bouncing around the 8th/7th/9th levels of the football league and occasionally dreaming of a place in the FA cup proper.

yet neville (as the main "speaker") says he wants to turn them into a football league club. with foreign investment and "overpaid" players dropping down divisions. interesting one, obviously you want your club to do well but would you want them to "cheat" or would you just enjoy the ride, win lose, go up go down and take it as it comes?

If thats the case, maybe we should of just folded after going into administration and not taken mandaric's money and subsequently the Thais....

It's catch 22, really.

Maybe they can see it from the point of view as the bigger the club gets, the more jobs and money coming into the local community...

I don't see why they can't be a league club without foreign investment. AFC Wimbledon managed it (albeit with an incredible fanbase for non-league which diluted the need for outside investment) but then Fleetwood have had money piled into them and are now in the third division.

I don't see it as cheating, if someone wants to spend their money on a football club and run it sustainably then there shouldn't be an issue. I'd probably enjoy the ride and see how far you go, you should still have a club at the end of it and fleeting glory is better than no glory at all and just existing at a certain level. I'd still want the club to be a part of the local community and not lose it's identity however.

Bit Vincent Tan of them to change the club's colours just so they look like Yanited.

The class of Vincent Tan

Those kids that climbed the fence rather than paying a £1 lol

Watched it earlier and found it really interesting to watch.

Thought Gary Neville came across really well, Ryan Giggs looked like he wanted to give the manager time. Made me laugh when Gary Neville asked Paul Scholes to play in an FA Cup game and his response was "I'm fat as ****"

Also Jason Jarret came across as a bit of a dick but is obviously struggling with personal problems.

One of the interesting parts was with an ex Leicester Player. They were discussing the two 'star players', the striker who had dropped a few divisions and was on £400 a week and the £300 a week midfielder - Jason Jarrett. He seemed quite a nice guy but he has had considerable mental health problems (depression) which have dogged him through the latter part of his career- which he was prepared to talk about. Also the switch from 8k a week to 300 a week...

edit: saw the comment before mine about jarret being a dick. He did make a funny comment when dropped to the bench about his calf being too sore to sit on the bench..

thought jarret came across as a bit of a nobjob but it must be incredibly hard to do something like that. to go from basically living the dream with the best players/managers and facilities around you to being told you're on the bench by some part time manager cos he wants to play a builder instead of you away at ashton united.

think anyone would react similarly. say you'd got to the top of your job and then in two or three years time you were suddenly being told how to clean the computer screen you used to work in front of by some idiot you know you are a million times more competent than. drive me nuts that.

Sounds like he spunked a lot of money away on Aston Martins & Range Rovers.

Next thing he was sat in some car park in his Vauxhall insignia.

well ye he didnt seem too bright or too clever with his money but it must still be a bit surreal. presumably he thought he was set for life playing champ/prem(?) football and clearly he wasn't. can't blame him that much though, doubt i'd be much different. and my reaction to being benched away at whatever hell hole he was at after the gaffer had spent every training session just saying "run" would be similar too.

For a footballer who was on £9k a week his bird wasn't up to much was she.

Gareth Seddon on the other hand must have to turn clunge away daily the lucky fvcker.

Amazing how these footballers throw away their money.

A 4 year 9k a week contract is a serious amount of money, one of those alone should leave you pretty comfortable with a house paid for and a good sum in the bank if managed correctly.

I guess most spend it on clothes and watches...

Just under 2 million before tax, no sympathy with him.

Young men are stupid with money, that's never going to change.

Am I the only one that thinks what the class of 92' are doing here is totally wrong? The people involved clearly don't want to be a league club, one that tries to advance through throwing money at a football club and having billionaire owners.

It's looks like a vanity project to me.

I get the romanticism of supporting a small team but when the aim of the game you love is so score more than the opposition I find it pretty weird that some fans don't like success.

Great documentary though and Gary Neville yet again comes across very well. Hopefully he gets a chance at managing the England team when Hodson gets the shove.
