Thracian - Andy, I am your father.

You clearly don't know me!  :D

Those who do, know that if I didn't think Kingy was good enough it wouldn't help him if I was his father or not.

Gonna be well interesting with us having to make two forced changes ....    but I think that tidal wave of confidence we are riding at the moment will see us through...  2 1 to the (Leicester) Blue boys.    :scarf:

He'd probably kill you anyway Thracian. But come on man, you do polish his nuts a fair bit. I mean he is a solid player and fantastically loyal, but he's no Kante.

Why Everton FC striker Lukaku is outshining even Leicester City's Vardy

Just because something is expected does not make it any less impressive

Jamie Vardy is having a party, according to the Leicester fans.

It seems as if Romelu Lukaku’s invite was lost in the post.

Make no mistake, the Leicester striker deserves the attention and the acclaim. Scoring in 11 consecutive games, beating Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record in the process, is only part of it.

He has 15 goals overall in the campaign, and he plays with a relentless, raw style. His rise through the ranks - from Stockbridge Park Steels to Leicester, via Halifax and Fleetwood - is worthy of a Hollywood script.

Lukaku’s story this season is not as fantastical, nor is it as unexpected. When Vardy was grafting in the lower leagues, Lukaku was scoring 15 goals for Anderlecht in the Belgian top flight, aged 16. As Vardy was making a name for himself at Fleetwood Town, Lukaku was moving to Chelsea for £20m, where he would win the Champions League and FA Cup.

There is no romanticism to the Lukaku story. He was touted as one of the best striking prospects in Europe, and he has become that at Goodison Park. No rags, only riches.

Yet consider what he has achieved already at Everton. Fifteen goals this season; 51 in 101 in his career at the club so far. Add that to a series of dominating performances, and the fact he does not turn 23 until next May, and Lukaku is in prime position to become one of the stars of this season - and many seasons to come.

Just because something is expected does not make it any less impressive. The only reason he has been on this path to superstardom is because of his immense talent, something he showed as an early teen. Unlike so many, he is also realising it at the highest level.

That is not to disparage Vardy, of course. His achievement this season is phenomenal. He is not just a goalscorer, either, but a player who Everton’s centre back pairing will have to deal with from first kick until last. A rabid dog with a squeaky toy forever in its reach.

But Lukaku is different. He oozes quality. At times, it looks effortless - and that can lead to accusations of disinterest, at times.

He still has much to improve upon. Frightening for opponents, exciting for Roberto Martinez. Against Norwich, he showed how he can’t always be relied upon in front of goal, and that he still needs to refine his accuracy.

He still scored in that game, however. In fact, he has now scored in six consecutive games - five short of Vardy’s record. It is too soon to set his sights on that, granted, but it is still showing a level of consistency few do in the Premier League.

With 12 league strikes this campaign, he is just three behind Vardy - and this in a side that have created fewer chances than the Foxes in the league this season. His general presence terrifies defenders. His overall game needs sharpening, but he is one of the league’s best strikers.

I have posted elsewhere, as you'd expect, but anyone with a spare for this that they need to sell, I've suddenly realised I am free to go. It's a long shot but any port in a storm............
