C'mon.

He can play for sure. Even Mourinho was surprised we got him!

I think CR expected to mould us in to more of a possession based team, through Benny and Inler, but he has seen our strengths, and he has gone with them.

That is class management, and I would swap CR for anyone right now.

I think that's quite a big thing really, he could quite easily have sat back and favoured his own signings (at least one of Inler & Benalouane are on him) but he's not done that in the slightest. He seems someone who is prepared to take advice and someone who won't piss around when it isn't going well. He's got a lot of positive characteristics.

I can see us getting 7 points out of the next three games. Beat Everton and Liverpool, and Draw with City. Everton aren't playing great and Liverpool don't like it when a team don't play like they want them to. 1-1 against City.

There is just so much belief in the players at the moment, the team is playing at it's peak and there is no reason to suggest it they will falter anytime soon.

West Brom - We've actually won there three times in a row when I've been now, but I'm pretty sure I read someone at the time say it used to be another bogey ground for us.

The first time I went to the Hawthorns, we lost two nil - but were sporting the jinxed green and gold strip. Didn't go back for a decade or so, but we won that one 2-3 - I recall Scott Taylor bagging two. Last April though will always remain as one of my most cherished visits to any ground ever.

Regarding Goodison, I like the place. Traditional ground, great atmosphere, loud genuine fans. The Z Cars theme's ****ing ridiculous though; - although it could be worse, it could be Vicarage Road.

Reading some of the comments on theirforum one would think we are going to be playing a combined eleven of Real Madrid and Barcelona combined. Comments like we are better than Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City etc, etc, we should be third in the table at the moment, teams can't live with us at the moment etc, etc, have a look at their Norwich away, post match comments on Everton fans website not the grand old team one cos that too is a joke.

They are not the true Everton fans I remember from when we had the memorial for that poor fella who got hit on the head by some debris when going to the Walkers stadium some years ago. I believe their is a bench in our memorial garden, paid for by Bentleys roof members, credit to them for that and much respect. I believe his name may have been Yifter.

I know we all like to big our own team up but they seem to be ultra stupid/ delusional. I really hope Mahrez tears a hardly fit Baines a new one Saturday afternoon and we beat them. Aka kevin keegan style. In order to shut some of their fans up for showing us no respect whatsoever.

Drinky and Huth both out...

King in quite obviously!

Was or Benny for Huth..

I'd take a draw in this one.. Gonna be a tough match.

I hope DD has a quick recovery, but it could be a blessing in disguise. King or Inler might come in and be in the form of their lives. We are playing so well, injuries are the only way anyone can break into the starting 11.

I find it somewhat amusing that some of their fans are also blowing into the same idiotic trumpet on their forum with regards to the theory that without Mahrez and Vardy, we'd be rock bottom.

Well, where would they be without Lukaku and Barkley? lol

You can spin such an absurd theory ad infinitum. So pointless.

Leicester City

  • Leicester are unbeaten in nine games and have won 17 of their last 25 league fixtures, losing just twice.
  • They have not lost an away match for nine months since a 4-3 defeat at Tottenham in March (W7, D4).
  • Claudio Ranieri's side are the division's leading scorers with 34 goals, all of which have come from inside the penalty area.
  • The Foxes are the only side to have scored in every Premier League game this season.
  • Jamie Vardy has 15 league goals this season, as many as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi combined.

All of Everton's five wins this season have been against current bottom 9 teams.

The only league games they've won since October are home to Sunderland and home to Villa.

Their last three games they've failed to beat Bournemouth, Norwich or Palace.

We've got nothing to fear here at all. If we play well we win the game.

Various posters, in this thread and others, have commented on supposed skills that Inler has over King that have simply not been in evidence since he's been here.

No surprise given the lack of game time on the pitch, Tony. It's like commenting on a car you only know from hearsay.

Better range of passing? Does anyone seriously believe King can't deliver a long pass or an imaginative through ball which is spun to evade a covering defender? What nonsense. King simply sees the situation and delivers the pass that's quickest, most constructive and least risky.

Well, from what I recall, King's never really shown any intent of playing a long ball going forward (correct me if I'm wrong). You say it yourself - he usually goes for the safe option and plays it short.

I've seen about four long passes from Inler since he's been here. Two of them were easily intercepted and might well have ended up giving a goal away. All were unnecessary and unlikely to result in anything exciting given the positioning of covering defenders. They need to be delivered instantly and when opposing defenders have been pressing too far forward and can be caught on the counter.

Of course I accept that Inler could occasionally get lucky with a Hoddle-like delivery, just the same as he could get lucky with those occasional long range shots of his that people have lauded but which have actually gone high, wide and not very handsome when I've watched.

How nice of you not to mention about twice the amount of long balls from Inler that actually found their man going forward.

No, the important things to me are the time Inler needs on the ball to deliver his passes - far too long from what I've seen so far - and his reluctance to track runners, who will surely work off him rather than Kante, if they've done their homework.

I'm sorry but that's just not true.

King has improved in this aspect and his tackling is keener now than some give him credit for.

When's the last time you've seen King put in a decent tackle?

Furthermore King is a far more versatile goals threat and is still the best fast passer in the club, particular under pressure.

King's positioning sense is very good, but the majority of his goals lately were scored by being at the right time in the right spot in the opposing box.

Inler vs. King - round (insert a double-digit number of your choice here).

Yet more evidence that you show such bias toward Inler. I hope you're right and he's as good as you keep on making out he is. He'll more than likely get his chance soon I suspect.

we get it, inler used to live somewhere you've been or something. doesn't mean you're going to convince anyone on here that he's our best ever player because he's done absolutely f uck all and looked like doing absolutely f uck all every time he's been given a chance to do anything.

Thracian talks about King like he's a world leading midfielder when he quite clearly isn't, but I've seen nothing from Inler yet to that suggests he's any better. I hope they both get a bit more game time while drinky is out.

That's all fine and dandy - but I've never said he's our best player ever.

I know that his sparse appearances in the league and some of his performances in the League Cup have left a few people wondering about his qualities. I think he can and will do better. Let's not forget that King already has about 30 more PL games to show for.

Where's Dean Hammond in all this? Can't we recall him? Very steady performances last season, I think he brings more to the table than Inler

I see what you did there. :D

Btw, no Inler emoticon yet!

Merson says we'll lose 3-0

you mean 2-1?

But I'm going to go with them to stop Leicester's run here. I think Danny Drinkwater will be missed far more than he was on Monday night against Chelsea.

It might be a game too far for Leicester. Romelu Lukaku is on fine form, scoring in six games on the trot, and could even go on and beat Jamie Vardy's record.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

That is a crazy fact! I suppose it is one of our weaknesses.

I really liked Hammond last season - he and King made a surprisingly effective partnership early last season however there's no way we're dropping Kante any time soon

Inler will get his emoticon soon, only got round to Kante and Fuchs last day or so - Inler, Schwarzer and maybe Simpson on the to-do list. Got a feeling I'm forgetting someone. Hell, I haven't even done a proper Ranieri one yet

Same here, but I think it was about time we brought in more talent.

Plus, I'd say Hammond in the Premier League as a starting CM or replacement CM would not have filled me with that much confidence this season.

I mean, if people are quick to criticize Inler for his alleged lack of speed, think about how it'd be in Hammond's case!

The way I'm seeing it is Everton are still the bookies favourites.

Leicester are the bookies underdogs the same as all previous 16 matches ~ so another Leicester WIN.

(Arsenal was a fluke)
