Everton away.. Next up.... Thoughts!

Mate..if you are correct.. if Cambiasso DID tell the team how to use him better, aren't you making my point EXACTLY? Whoever decided to do this..It worked! lol

Until then, we had been pants.

Until then..across nearly all the stats, our most effective midfielder had been Matt James. Look back at them if you so wish.

To get back on track....if we play Inler, we'd need a formation to enable him to.do what he does best..orchestrate.

It will be interesting to see what Ranieri does.

You could argue that Matty James injury may have helped us go on that wining run, in came King alongside Cambiasso and we went BANG. Very little is made of James dropping out of the side, was it purely coincidental or was he dog shit? I'm going with the latter, I don't rate him at this level.

Leicester have won only one of their 18 Premier League meetings with Everton (W1 D13 L4) and none of the last 11 (W0 D9 L2).

Of all fixtures that have been played at least five times in the Premier League, Everton vs Leicester City has the highest percentage of draws (72%).

Steven Naismith has scored in both of his Premier League appearances against Leicester City.

If Leicester City win this match, they'll be top of the league on Christmas Day. Five of the last six teams to have been leading the league at Xmas have gone on to win the title, with the exception in this period being Liverpool in 2013-14.

The Foxes are unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League away games, winning seven in that run. Their previous best unbeaten run in the Premier League on the road was four matches.

Indeed, 11 matches unbeaten on the road is Leicester's best ever run in the top flight and is just two short of their overall league record of 13 away games without defeat set in April 2014.

Romelu Lukaku has scored in his last seven consecutive matches in all competitions for Everton.

Since Lukaku's Premier League debut for Everton in September 2013, only Sergio Aguero (49) has more goals in the competition than the Belgian (37).

Riyad Mahrez has been involved in 18 goals in the Premier League this season (11 goals, 7 assists); more than any other player. Jamie Vardy is next with 17 (15 goals, 2 assists).

Only Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (18) has netted more goals in Europe's top five leagues this season than Jamie Vardy (15) coming into this weekend.

James  got injured against Southampton with only 2 games after that I don't think you can claim that his injury was responsible for our escape.

Everton are draw machines and our head to head is a draw fest so therefore we'll win. NEXT

My apologies, I could have sworn he went off vs West Ham. That'll be why it's nevr been mentioned then! Hahahahaaaa

Initial thoughts are this is a game we will do well to draw. Watched their game against Norwich and they carved them up at will first half and then strangely faded away in the second.

It's the whole "We're just Leicester City"-mindset that tells me to be overly cautious of expecting anything else than a convincing win.

Think about it, we have arguably the three best players in the league right now and are up against a side leaking goals. Combine this with Everton's relative profligacy in front of goal and the fact a not-yet match-fit Baines is up against Mahrez and everything points to a Leicester win.

We've seen before that Everton do not deal with opposing teams pressuring hard and high up the pitch, and there's currently no better side in the league at that than us. They will rightly be sh1tting themselves at the prospect of playing us!

James played the full game against West Ham, King came on late and scored the winner, and James was dropped for King in a couple of the games in that run before his injury, but started against Southampton and lasted only 13 minutes.

Wow, didn't realise it was this bad. Draw looks inevtiable...

And Vardy has three assists by now, surely? 1 for Okazaki v West Ham, 1 for Mahrez v Spurs, 1 for Mahrez v Swansea. I'm guessing the one for Okazaki doesn't count in the statistics.

Another team where their fans have got delusions of grandeur re their teams ability and status. According to a lot of their fans we are going to get battered 4 0 3 1 etc, etc.

Hope their team is as complacent and delusional as their fans cos then we can turn them over. Not worried after the way we are playing and there is nothing to fear here.

I do think it will be a scoring draw. They are at home and have the home crowd behind them but they do draw a lot of games plus we draw a lot against them. 1 1 it will be.

Oh my god I just had a look at their pre match thread haha. It's basically a forum full of Everton supporting @@ScouseFox's

2-2 is as close as they get to prediciting a positive result in out favour, with the rest of the predicitions varying from 3-1 to 8-0 haha.

I'm always wary of Everton, a good, honest, hard-working team with some top players

Lukaku and Barkley are bright sparks but can't underestimate McCarthy and his role in their side

Posted

Baines was a bit rusty last week and imagine he still will be. Get the ball to Riyad as much as we can to run at him, he'll soon tire.- both physically and mentally. Then Dyer will be on the bench too which isn't someone you want to see warming up if you're tired.

Reckon it'll be 2-1 to us, or possibly 2-2. Take a point to be honest. Kone or Naismith are bound to score.

lmao just reading one of their pre match threads and a scouser says

What I find funny....

The fans according to Claudio can dream of the win, and the title..We have to play not dream, 40pts. Target.

The fans in foxforum, everyweek actually ask for patience and be wary..looking for draws.

The team, in their togetherness say 1st 40pts, but we do go in each game to win it...

We are now moving to heathen terrortory...Lancashire,Scousers so scared they are now a

mertropoliten borough, but they cant hide ,then in new year playing some light blue group from Lancs.

King Richard, bless him and his blue knights, will have his heritary way and revenge, on these upstarts.

Lances kipped, advance at leisure ,trott,.... then slow canter..3/4 canter....charrrrrge.

The foxes and white boar will have their fill ,pilaging all and sundary, not forgetting the stuffing in this festive season attack of the north. With smart work some damsels will be rescued, and a few wenches heads will be turned with a wink of the eye. These knaves will not be a doubting no more..

The boleyn, St James park, Liberty - all places we don't win

Goodison is the same - but I could remember that we had won at West Ham and Newcastle at some point In the past. I just can't recall a win at Everton??

Anyone ?

I think Benny is the more likely choice over Wasyl as he's been getting games with the U21s and should be more physically and mentally fit to play.

I bet Claudio has already made his decision and is staying tight lipped to make it a little harder for Everton to prepare.

Last time we won in the league at Everton was 14 Dec 1985 we won 2-1 with Alan Smith and a Gary McAllister penalty

Seriously though it will be the first time in a while we have faceda team with an in-form striker who is sort of good at scoring. sometimes.
