Tired

Whole team looks very very tired

Top 6 looks a tough ask now !

Claudio will regret not splashing the cash !

Not sure we will ever get as good an opportunity as this to make the champions league !

Well it was fun while it lasted

I agree that we are owed some slack after the out of this world first 4-5 months but the people just writing the poor form off because we are joint top are hilarious.

Since Liverpool the performances have been very poor, the attacking intent has gone and we look awful going forward. Anyone who thinks we will take anything from arsenal and city away are having a laugh.

That is not to say we can't turn it around as we have clearly shown we are capable but the last month has simply not been good enough. Ulloa is NOT good enough and we badly need a decent option when Vardy/Okazaki are struggling.

Stoke will be a massive test are they were playing very well lately. Not bothered about the cup as it wasn't the first team but it is worrying that we still sat back and didn't show anything going forward, at home.

The lads are just tired ! It's been very very high tempo and full on stuff and the gas has run out !

It was always going to happen our only hope was big signings and Claudio didn't want to do that , and that's cool !

We are safe and now anything else is a huge bonus

We have played shit for a few games but who hasn't? Every team has a bad spell and let's not forget that this season has made some of the best memories for a city fan in a long long time.

PANIC!!!

Don't be silly, everyone has their peaks and troughs - and we're at the peak of the league at a 'tough' time.

He just said himself on the radio he wanted to keep it 0-0 and push the second half. We've been doing that since Liverpool. But even last season apart from that 4 game period where we played 4 central midfielders we weren't as negative as we have been lately.

Worrying to hear... explains why de Laet came on against villa... to try and see the game out 1 nil! against the worst side in the league... It doesn't work, it is like we have appointed Pulis as manager

Wow... what a load of shite from those criticising us. We are having an incredible season and we all knew we could not sustain that level all season, otherwise we would be about 10-15 points clear at the top, which is just ludricous. Just like Man City and all their superstars having iffy spells and Arsenal having off days, we are no different. Our players are looking tired and people are forgetting we played our Leicester reserve team tonight and you could tell it was. Spurs have a far more talented squad than us.

16 games to go, we are top, which is just crazy to even contemplate. Vardy hopefully coming back to fitness and Mahrez rested tonight. A win against Stoke and we are right back on it,

I don't think it's unfair to express concern at this point. We aren't playing well at all.

Having Vardy and Mahrez unable to perform at the same time has taken the life out of our attacking threat.

Results aren't that bad it's just the style of play that's a bit alarming.

Sitting so deep, and with no pressing there's none of the forcing mistakes and a few crisp passes and fast counter.

We almost look devoid of any threat or creativity, everything is just being pumped aimlessly high and long, hoping someone will chase it down and beat the last man.

Sitting very deep and when the ball does fall right the runners are still a long way behind the play.

Positives are Gray looks very capable of making something happen if he gets a bit of support, Okazaki looks like he's gonna chase down and press and try and make himself a chance every time the opposition starts knocking the ball round the back.

Don't think we need to get to panic stations unless with a fit Vardy we continue to not press at all and don't start putting the opposition under some pressure on the ball and forcing mistakes and being able to win the ball back high up the pitch and move forward quickly.

Hoping to see Gray feature in the league and try and take pressure off Mahrez to create everything and maybe give us another option.

Think Ulloa playing encourages going long and high and it really doesn't suit.

I wouldn't even count the Cup games in with the League ones. Listening to Jonathan Pearce bring this up a couple of times this evening has reinforced my will to end him.

People citing tiredness as an excuse - not as if there's a winter break coming up is it? We going to say that every week til May, securing our 10th-place finish with a 'hard-fought' 3-0 defeat at Chelsea and saying 'Oh well, they were tired'?

How did you cope last season when we won a single game in about 6 months

The changes for the cup games meant our first team has really only played 3 matches since Man City on the 29th December, for a team used to playing 2/3 times a week in the championship I'm sure they are not burnt out.. but if they are that'll be down to giving up possession dropping deep and chasing the game for 90 minutes, that is occurring more than it ever did last season or earlier this season.

Has Vardy's injury has given Ranieri an excuse to properly impose his Italian tactics on the team? I hope it's temporary and we're looking at players to help us keep hold of the ball and take more care with it when we do win it back as we've been hoofing rid for a few months now.

Because we had Pearson, so everything was always going to be alright in the end.

With Ranieri playing Pulisball it's pretty difficult atm. Mahrez being able to take a penalty without being a complete nancy would have helped but he didn't and in the last few games we haven't created any decent chances from open play.

Posted

We were always going to go on a blip, even if we maintained the style of play from before Liverpool. It's just a bit of shame when we are in this blip, the way we have played has changed a little, but I'm sure vardy and mahrez will start to score again.

Why are people totally unwilling to engage with the point that the style of play has been absolutely atrocious for the last 7 games?

It's unbelievable that we're top of the league but my god the last 7 games have made me want to pick my eyes out with a rusty spoon

perhaps they would engage if the title or the op had anything to do with the style of play in the last 7.
Posted

I have faith that the style of play has just been because our players were either tired or playing against stronger teams. We won at Everton and Tottenham playing like this, but I remain confident we will press more and attack more against the weaker teams from now on.

Actually I did refer to the style of play, in the very first line.

Tired players, a few injuries, playing many of the better teams. All can contribute to a change in style. We'll only know when we have a run against some of the lesser teams.
