1 win in 7 games

Tired players, a few injuries, playing many of the better teams. All can contribute to a change in style. We'll only know when we have a run against some of the lesser teams.

And if so, Ranieri cements his position as a genius for ekeing out results in the intervening period.

Because we had Pearson, so everything was always going to be alright in the end.

So don't you have the same faith in Ranieri to make things alright? Seeing as he's already shat on last season in half the games.

Every team has a blip, if you can call this a blip, remember this time last year when we really were in the s!!t think we maybe all need to remember how good we've had it this season

Listen, we've done great this season, of course we have. But if what was making us successful wasn't sustainable, then we should spend the money to try and make it so. Id rather be losing these games attacking with reckless abandon than like that, simple.

There's plenty of good reasons for our run of indifferent results, its perfectly understandable. Its things like bringing De Laet on for Okazaki and playing 451 at home that are just ridiculous with the season we're having.

I don't think we have the true depth in our squad to focus on both the league and the cup. We are too reliant on a few key players to "make the difference" in games.

It's concerning. Not time to panic just yet but there's certainly been a change in our approach to games and the goals have dried up as a result. We're not playing to our strengths and our strength is scoring goals. Pace. Scaring the opposition shitless and making them retreat. And I don't mean because Wasyl is running at them.

The worry is if we carry on like this it will become harder to change things back. Confidence will drop.

We need to be brave at this point. Cowards will shut up shop against Stoke.

Good god. We are joint top, we have played Spuds, Man City, Liverpool. We should have won at villa missed a penalty, we should have beaten Bournemouth, we drew with Spurs in the cup away they were given a penalty that never was. We beat them in the league the game that really matters, at their place.

Nothing to moan about for gods sake. Every team has a blip we were nailed on relegation certainties in the eyes of the punditry world before a ball was kicked this season we are safe and will be playing premier league football next season.

We don't have to 'focus' on both at the same time. The cup was tonight, the league is on Saturday.

Resting unfit players is one thing, not trying to win is another.

Nobody's discussing whether it's been a good season or whether certain matches could have gone the other way. The main discussion is about how our performances have dipped and results would seem to mirror that somewhat.

I don't think it's a coincidence.

Why are people totally unwilling to engage with the point that the style of play has been absolutely atrocious for the last 7 games?

It's unbelievable that we're top of the league but my god the last 7 games have made me want to pick my eyes out with a rusty spoon

Just the way it is. Some people for whatever reason almost feel scared to actually comment on what they're seeing.

We're safe and will be playing premier league football next season...

Is that it?

Would you honestly be satisfied with that outcome to this season?

Currently we're joint TOP.

..in late January

..something that will probably never happen again, our fleeting chance of making CL football!.. This is a Huge opportunity!

...the club need to invest and act NOW to bring in a marquee signing /striker..

A TRUE STATEMENT OF INTENT!

I'm sorry but we've taken 4 points from two Premier League away games including an absolutely massive win at Spurs when it truly mattered with the 1st teams out...

We were spoilt firing in the goals earlier in the season, lest we forget we were conceding 2 goals a game most weeks aswell.

Now we have only conceded one Premier League goal in four games. Against Man City, Spurs, Bournemouth and Villa.

Sure we have only scored twice in those games but we've taken 6 points... That's 1.5 points per game which is awesome given the games played.

Our 9 reserves didn't show up tonight, Spurs wanted it more etc.... But this could be a blessing in disguise, Spurs now have to play Saturday away then Tuesday night in the important league game.

Our boys will have the weekend off before Liverpool at home.

Season derailed, we've gone rubbish and all that rhetoric needs to stop. We haven't been as incredible in an attacking sense recently, however we have made clean sheets and are still joint top.

Ultimately had Mahrez stuck the two penalties away we would be 4 points clear and this negative thread wouldn't exist.

The title is still in our hands. Man United are crap, Arsenal can play crap they lost 4-0 to Southampton for goodness sake. Man City have lost 5 this season, Arsenal 4, and us only 2.

They also have champions league to concentrate on and we do not.

I wanted to win tonight, it was freezing cold in the ground, there was a bizarre 25 minute turnstile queue resulting in missing 10 minutes and we delivered a completely inept performance overall.

However let's just win Saturday and be glad we don't have to play an extra match when we are on the edge of Champions League qualification.

Looks like people are starting to buy into the media hype that the 'bubbles burst'.

Its surely a matter of perspective. Yes, one could argue that if you look at the last 7 games we've only won one, but when you break it down and look at the teams we've played, location of fixtures, and frequency of games it adds context to the results. Also why 7 games, what's the relevance, other than what the media are trying to portray?

We've had a lot of really tricky fixtures in a short space of time and yet we haven't conceded any ground to those around us. I'd also argue that the increased load and physical demands of the last month or so will benefit us greatly when the fixtures slow down and we settle back down into a less demanding period.

I know that we've played a lot deeper recently and some are viewing it negatively, but in all honesty we've picked up a decent points tally against some of the so called bigger teams. No one other than the management team knows why we've reverted to this style, however who's to say that the sports science team haven't had a word and suggested that we conserve our energy over what has been a very hectic period so that we can up our game again and accelerate out as we approach the business end.

Ultimately the point I'm trying to make is lets not go jumping to conclusions just yet, there's plenty more to play for, and our rivals have more games to play.

People are afraid to criticize Claudio (and/or his tactics) he same way they are to criticize Vardy or Mahrez. They give them tolerance when times turn bad.

But we're surpassed a fluke run. In our last string of games, it's hard to say where we deserved better result for the performance we put in. Our performance tonight never would beat Tottenham's side if we replayed them 100 times. I don't think theperformances in all of those draws deserved the 3 points either. Even Villa, we should have blown them out of the water and fell apart after 35 minutes. We weren't that great against Everton either. Chelsea is truly the last time when our performance deserved the 3 points.

I agree. It's as if they think any negative comment is equivalent to a knee-jerk, panicky breakdown. That sort of silliness does get posted of course but saying something like "we look weak going forward" is clearly not the same.

In all fairness, I don't give a shit that the games haven't been kind or that we could have had more but for three penalties. What bothers me is we've gone completely anti football, we no longer look interested in attacking. Still no possession but we're not even compensating that by being exciting on the break, we're just making up numbers on the pitch since Christmas. A few more games like this, and even west brom would be more interesting to watch.

We've lost a cup match against a good Spurs team by playing fringe players so that our regulars, who have propelled us to the top of the league so far, can get time to rest following a tough run with little rest time against lots of big teams where we were supposed to drop back down the league by most people's accounts.  I think we can forgive a couple of poor shows against teams we expected to beat and one defeat for our B team given the circumstances.

I expect we'll see the goals start rolling in again soon, we'll finish 3rd and this nonsense will all have been forgotten about.

People expecting a victory and marquee performance every game.

People demanding we spend loadsa money, no matter the effect on the team ethic or wage structure, and in utter ignorance of the scouting success we have had recently.

Sigh...

It's symptomatic of the "I want it all, I want it now" culture.

It's like people have forgotten, in about 5 months where this club has come from.

People who want it all and want it now tend to support Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City, and look where they are in the table compared to us.

This thread, and the way it makes our fans look, depress the hell out of me.

:(

I went to the Bournemouth and today against Spurs matches.. All i see if people just watching and nobody even joins in on the chants or makes noise in B3 :/

Come on get in behind the team! We came so far from the team that was nearly relegated.. We gotta continue supporting our boys

Tonight's was a truly shocking (non) midfield display, especially in the first half. It was a real shame after such a good performance by the reserves at WHL. We will see what the team and CR are made of now. Nerves could well and truly set in but I think that one performance will put it right. In all honesty Europa League would still be a massive victory for me but why should the team or fans accept that after being England's top team since March? Interesting times ahead but I will still be there whatever.
