Leicesterpool Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Okay the clubs that did agree will still go ahead with this scheme the ones that didn't, will be given no away ticket allocation at any ground.
ramboacdc Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Maybe the 14 clubs in favor of the cap could share an agreement with each other on ticket prices, they could implement the cap when playing against eachother, but set prices higher for those who opposed the move? Its probably a bit childish but it may force the fans of the opposed clubs to pressure their own clubs into agreeing with the cap. Not sure how it would work if it was a closed ballot and there's no definitive way of proving which 7 clubs opposed the move, but just a thought... what i think would work is all clubs agree with eachother ticket prices. think it would also appease @@Jon the Hat 's point. say if all the clubs in may (just after the play off finals) sent a list of what they see as their biggest games and then negotiated to have the same price for home and away for both fixtures? say liverpool send their list out as follows 1: everton 2: man u 3: man c .... 20: brighton they then come to an agreement that when brighton play them tickets at anfield will be say £30 for adults at most and away fans the same. then at the return fixture at the amex, brighton have the same pricing. that make sense?
Dan Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 The fans have the power to change this but don't have it in them. I'm not defending greedy PL clubs (as that's all they are quite honestly) but the fans are just as culpable.

Thats my point too, the fans complain about prices but pay them anyway so nothing will change
ramboacdc Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Thats my point too, the fans complain about prices but pay them anyway so nothing will change thing is even if one wont someone else will. if all the ST holders at man u decided they weren't willing to pay. the ones in the waiting list behind would pay it gladly.
Dan Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 At the same time however it is disappointing that there is absolutely nothing done by the FA or Premier League about this other than the barest minimum.
TiffToff88 Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 thing is even if one wont someone else will. if all the ST holders at man u decided they weren't willing to pay. the ones in the waiting list behind would pay it gladly. Exactly! we cant win this and never will
purpleronnie Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Dortmund fans are set to protest about paying £15 for a standing ticket and £30 for the cheapest seats.
GaelicFox Posted 5 February 2016 Author Posted 5 February 2016 Exactly! we cant win this and never will I'm afraid it seems your 100% correct The scousers are walking out at 77 mins on thier next home game
purpleronnie Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 I'm afraid it seems your 100% correct The scousers are walking out at 77 mins on thier next home game Just don't go hows that for a protest?. That said it will be interesting to see how many actually walk out.
GaelicFox Posted 5 February 2016 Author Posted 5 February 2016 Dortmund fans are set to protest about paying £15 for a standing ticket and £30 for the cheapest seats. Germans are unbelievably tight I was on holiday and they were making the bar man fill the glass with beer to the top of glass "no head" After an hour of this crap and the Poor barman struggling my mate said "listen Franze if you had some head you might relax so please go and have a word with Gertrude" We all fell on the floor pissing ourselves while the old Kraut went back to his table chuntering in German
GaelicFox Posted 5 February 2016 Author Posted 5 February 2016 Not going is pointless. Too much tourist demand. Very true , and it's easy to see why the atmosphere is so bad at these big clubs !
purpleronnie Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Not going is pointless. Too much tourist demand. For some clubs, not all. If enough people did it they'd never replace those fans.
SpacedX Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Park in the university halls on Welford Road for free - couple of pints in the Turnstile - programme for a quid, £3.00 to get into pen 3, Lineker and Smudger up front, pukka pie at half time for 75p. Went to most away fixtures once people around me started passing their test. First year of this 84-85 season, furthest I went was St.James Park. Couple of quid each petrol, £4.00 to get in, quid for a bottle of dog. City didn't travel well back then..blame the green and gold away strip - trounced them in blue though that day 4-1 City. Same year went down to Watford around Christmas...freezing cold, reverse scoreline. Had a Ford Cortina and the window jammed in the door on the way back up the M1. I'm sure it was only a few notes to get into Vicarage Road though - they needed the atmosphere desperately.
MPH Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 It is a sad state of affairs but football clubs are big business now a days and their business model dictates that their prices will rise just like any other industry. There will always be a customer profile that will pay the top whack. Tickets for sporting events in the USA are upwards of $200 per ticket these days. You doughnut.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 I paid $48 to watch the San Francisco 49ers and about $60 to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers just a couple of years back. I've bought 2 tickets for £40 to watch the San Fran Giants in July. Always sell out home games too.
Drew Peacock Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Germans are unbelievably tight I was on holiday and they were making the bar man fill the glass with beer to the top of glass "no head" After an hour of this crap and the Poor barman struggling my mate said "listen Franze if you had some head you might relax so please go and have a word with Gertrude" We all fell on the floor pissing ourselves while the old Kraut went back to his table chuntering in German Mate, I feel like shite and this cheered me up no end. I just don't know why it was just the words "listen Franze" that set me off. I wish I understood the psychology of humour. Timing I guess.
GaelicFox Posted 5 February 2016 Author Posted 5 February 2016 I've bought 2 tickets for £40 to watch the San Fran Giants in July. Always sell out home games too. Dodgers $50 for two tickets
GaelicFox Posted 5 February 2016 Author Posted 5 February 2016 Mate, I feel like shite and this cheered me up no end. I just don't know why it was just the words "listen Franze" that set me off. I wish I understood the psychology of humour. Timing I guess. If I told it in the pub you might get a few smiles But in writing it does raise a chuckle We saw "Franze and gurtrude" every morning for next two weeks for breakfast or lunch. We deduced if Franze was drinking orange juice gurtrude was not looking after his frankfurter and if he was on the ale he was getting a good German goosing Was very funny and I'm sure they knew we were giggling at them. I so hope his name was really Franze
Leicesterpool Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Everything about football is dear these days, not just the ticket prices but the food/drink in the ground I mean £4 a burger at Leicester! also £3.50 a programme is a steep. Football used to be a working man's game! I tell you what though the rugby prices are worse though!, looked at the prices for the tigers a few weeks ago, correct if I'm wrong but the cheapest ticket you can get is £30 and that's for standing as well!
Wymsey Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Thought this was about the maximum salary a top footballer would be allowed to be paid hourly. I/We wish.
Dan Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 I couldn't give a crap how much the players are paid. Entertainment will always be seemingly unfair. The match ticket prices are appalling though.
Aus Fox Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 The money is nothing in premier league terms. The difference to a club between say £50 and £30 a ticket is nothing. Say 3,500 away fans, the difference works out to about £ 70,000 a game (an average players wage for a week) Or about £1,330,000 per season. Now compare this to each club next season receiving on average £81,000,00, is losing £1,300,000 going to affect the club? It's poor from the clubs who have said no, but unless there are more Liverpool style walk outs this will never change.
Adster Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I don't get how a walk out will do anything. They've still bought a ticket.
