NewEnglandFox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Norwich (H) (27/2) WBA (H) (1/3, Tuesday) Watford (A) (5/3) Newcastle (H) (14/3, Monday) Crystal Palace (A) (19/3) It's about to get wild with European competitions and cups for the other title contenders. The league cup final will give Man City a game in hand with a rescheduled game, the 5th round of the FA cup (12/3) will reschedule games as well, and 2 games in European competition all on the schedule for our rivals. 5 games for us with 8 on the schedule for the others. It's time for tunnel vision on our part. How many points will we take? Where will we be in the table?
LJS Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 We can genuinely win all five. Norwich are poor. West Brom will be tough to break down but we'll be favourites. Ditto Watford. Newcastle and Palace are both crap. If we don't have a meltdown we can be well clear at the top with five to play.
weller54 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Norwich 3 pts WBA 1 pt Watford 0 pts Newcastle 3 pts Palace 1 pt Puts us on 61 pts.. And we'll be 2nd ..behind bloody Spuds!
stevelcfc Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 No game is a given in this league and all of those teams have things to play for and will be very tough to break down, especially as they are unlikely to control the ball as well as the teams we've just played. That said, we need to win all 5 if the title is goinf to come home. (Seem's wrong to even be talking about it still). Happy with 10-12 points though.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 You've got to say those 3 home games are really decent opportunities to get points on the board. All 5 games look winnable on paper but we know what happened against Villa & Bournemouth for example.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I think those 5 teams all have certain qualities, as does the rest of the league. I'd still be hopeful of picking up some good points in those matches, the key is to continue to do what we're good at. I know that sounds obvious but I believe we will have success if we continue to play our style of play. I'm hoping we can continue the togetherness between the players and fans for these 12 games of this season and I'm sure we will. That togetherness and belief as one is important in my opinion.
GaelicFox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Players all getting a week off ! A small holiday to recharge the batteries , dubai will be busy I guess ! This again could be a master stroke by the master Claudio
Buce Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I think we'll win four and get a draw at Watford.
Kendal Fox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 11 points looks realistic- 6 from Norwich and WBA, 1 point from Watford, 3 from Newcastle and 1 from Palace. Assuming Arsenal draw or even lose to Man Utd, Man City draw or lose to Liverpool and Spurs drop points, we should still be in pole position. Right?!
Guest kristianity77 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 If we win all five of them which we really could do if we were on it, then we would have a huge lead in the race I believe when you look at the other fixtures teams around us have. Honestly if we got 15 from 15 in that lot, I think we'd have a 7 or 8 point lead. Having said that, I think we will get 10. 3 wins a draw and a loss.

LJS Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I've always been of the view that this next run of games is more important than the one just gone. The difference being that previously I had them as being an opportunity to keep ourselves just about in the title race after a difficult run. Now they're an opportunity to put ourselves well clear as we enter Easter.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Gotta be looking at 13 points there.
DB11 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 The points predictions for the previous three were way off... hopefully this thread doesn't go in the same direction and we look back with optimism and hope of what could have been
Number 6 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Think 9 from home games is on and then maybe nick a win on the road? 10 to 12 would be a decent return but we're capable of winning all 5. Good chance to gain on rivals with Arsenal having man u and Spurs next, plus man city having cup competitions. Be great to go into March at the top and could get enough points to have us leading into April.
coolhandfox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 need to take 10-12 if we are to stay in with a chance of winning it!
Bob666 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 12 from 15 if we want to win the title & as cover for last 3 matches of the season
americanfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Are we trying to finish 4th, 3rd, or 1st?
Grewks Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 1 game at a time..... We'd have all took a point at spurs and 3 at villa for example.
Gerard Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Anything less than 4 wins and a draw will be disappointing. Looking at our fixtures since Christmas time I'm sure we all felt if we are there or thereabouts after the Arsenal away match then we have a great chance of winning the title. Today was a sickner especially after being 1-0 up and then losing to a 95th minute winner but we'd all be delighted coming out of that 2pts clear in the title race, We go into our next nine games and there isn't one of them I'd take a point if offered now. We need to be confident, motivated and ruthless in these game and try to win all of them and keep putting the pressure on our rivals and force the to win to keep up with us. We've been brilliant against the better sides this last month or two and now we need to show the lesser sides that we're a class above them.
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Ranieri will have to let go of the reins and let them have more expression against the likes of WBA. They will have to summon the spirit of those games from last season and have the desire as if they are fighting for survival. Not saying we have to go crazy and all out attack.... but if things stand 0-0 and there's 20 minutes left.... we need to start playing less tactically and more with emotions and spirit.... that's the only way i see us winning all those games. If we try remain calm there's always a chance teams like WBA can score a set piece and defend all game
