teblin Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 I find it hard to forget how readily Leicester can snatch disaster from the jaws of success so don't want to get too carried away yet.
Izzy Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 It's just that I want us to finish above Spurs and Arsenal SO BADLY right now. If that's good enough for first then so be it. If we were currently in the title mix with Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and even Chelski I would probably take 3rd right now, but the fact that Spurs and Arsenal are our nearest challengers make me want it even more. Maybe the fact I've also got numerous side bets on with Yids and Gooner mates has something to do with it
stretch1965 Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 If we don't win a quadruple next season I'll be furious Yeah i agree, and next season if we don't have the prem wrapped up by Feb and the bookies paid out by Jan then ill be more than furious and I'll take up line dancing instead. Whos with me?
coolcol Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 How about the Bpl? How about just....the Premier League ( or PL) ??....it's the Americans who say EPL or BPL
Gerard Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 You don't win silver, you lose gold Brilliant quote. The posters who would be pleased to finish 3rd or 4th or even top six from this position infuriate me. There was someone a month a go who said he'd be delighted if we finished top ten FFS. We'll most probably never have a better chance of winning it in our lifetimes so for me a large part of me will be gutted if we finish second. We've not come this far to be 2pts ahead of Spurs and 5pts ahead of Arsenal to just be happy to be taking part. I'm sure the players only have eyes for the title and if they didn't I'd be worried about what a bunch of losers our players are. Thankfully they're not a bunch of losers and will want this badly.

Then the MD gooner said I'll take that bet as well. It's was written in on the works sales board. it's not the money I'll gladly pay up, it's their pride at steak! They can't believe what going on. "why can't you be shite like you used to be, we really liked you then" Haha.
Great Boos Up Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 How about just....the Premier League ( or PL) ??....it's the Americans who say EPL or BPL In January I read an American article on the British Premiership.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Go and win this fupping thing! +1 for the Father Ted reference (intentional or not)
chicagofox Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Please don't call it the EPL... Agreed. Please call it the BPL.
Dan Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 I wouldn't be happy with 3rd now. If you're looking at it from the summer, yes, it's terrific, but it'd be like winning £250k on who wants to be a millionaire, it's very good, but there's nothing else about it. We are 11 games from what is possibly the most incredible title win in English football history. To miss out on that from here would be gutting.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 It's been a while now that I reckoned you shouldn't settle for anything else. Go and win this fupping thing! We will Hammered please mash some Spuds for us on Wednesday night!
FireFox Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 How about just....the Premier League ( or PL) ??....it's the Americans who say EPL or BPLEPL or BPL are just easier to type. 'The Prem' though is easier to say.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 It is clearly the best season ever that is for sure..
hejammy Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 So if we finish third and know that we'll be playing champions league football, you'll be crying with disappointment?
BoyJones Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 So if we finish third and know that we'll be playing champions league football, you'll be crying with disappointment? Yes
JadeFalcon Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 £14k payout i will accept nothing less than winning this ****ing league

I'm sure the players only have eyes for the title and if they didn't I'd be worried about what a bunch of losers our players are. Thankfully they're not a bunch of losers and will want this badly. I think that our general sense of perspective will alter how we treat our final position. Finishing third in this league will be a monumental achievement and in years to come we'll be delighted about it. If we fall away from here though, it will be a crushing disappointment at the time. Can I also say, even if we do fall away and properly funge it up, the players won't have let us down. They have massively overperformed and overachieved to get us here-they owe us a huge blip, and we should be grateful if they don't supply it. Won't stop it feeling rubbish, but they'd feel worse than we would...not that it'll happen, because they're fvching legends! I'd be happy with third, and proper batshit delirious if we win it. Anyone booing a player or Claudio between now and the end of May gets a free spot in the sights of my rocket launcher...
LanguedocFox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 It won't be official to me until we're 4 points clear with a game to go, even then I'll still believe we're going to cock it up. Yes. We will find out that Kante wasn't properly registered, and we'll get a ten-point deduction.
LanguedocFox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I think the problem most people have is that winning the Prem (ever!) has always seemed such an impossible task for us. So now we are in the position where we might, just might do it, we don't want to jinx it. I like Wes Morgan's approach in his interview after the game on MotD when asked if the team are thinking about winning the League. He said something to the effect of "We're a good side, as we showed today, but we're looking forward to our next game against West Brom." In other words, he didn't deny it, but he didn't confirm it either. The fact is that, having got this far, of course we are going to be disappointed - everyone is. But would you have taken third at the beginning of the season?
