StanSP Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Can we please stop this?!The Norwich game and West Brom game it is almost embarrassing to listen to simply cos we pass the ball back to keep possession. It's unreal how expectant we have become. Look at the bigger picture and the position we are in.We're top of the league and have been for a number of weeks yet some 'fans' feel the need to get annoyed at players like Simpson or Drinkwater or Kante play it back to Wes or Huth. So what if they do that??I'd rather keep possession and work our way to a goal (i.e Ulloa vs Norwich) than just hoof it up and lose an aerial battle. And it's not even dying minutes that this happens. It's around midway through the match where fans are getting frustrated. To me, it's not on considering how well these players have played and the entertainment they have provided us virtually every game. It's as if these fans are panicking. So stop moaning and enjoy where we are. Enjoy the fact we are picking up points to stay at the top and still be in contention for winning the Premier League!Edit: bear in mind this stems mostly from the Norwich match. Not as bad yesterday cos I do love the fans reaction when we do concede - the support is pure when this happens, but just have some patience even when we're pushing for a goal!
shen Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Wow, is there really a lot of this? The game yesterday was just relentless waves of attack, particularly second half. As a spectator I imagine I would hardly have had time to catch my breath!

People getting seriously annoyed with passing to an open man and keeping it simple.
Len Finsbury Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 As the season goes on, our fans' expectations have increased. If we don't win the title, there'll be some grumbling amongst a few people, that's for sure. Despite initial expectations of survival after the manager switch, perhaps even a slight improvement on last season would have been considered a success, some people will expect nothing but the PL championship. We've already had our best PL season ever, improvement is a zlow process. If we do win the title... what are these people's expectations going to be NEXT year?!
Voll Blau Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 It was awful on Saturday. Never ceases to amaze me how easy fans as a collective find it to make a solid outpouring of grief at a collective pass, but yet are "too nervous" (or whatever the excuse was) to actually sing up when their team needs a bit of support*. *See also standing up to barrack the ref/shouting at our players to make a pass from 100 yards away/having a go at an oppo player.
EnglishOxide Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Can't say I've heard any of this at all in the last two games?
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 There are groans, yeah, but that's expected. I'll still moan or groan if something doesn't go right - not that my expectations have changed, just because it's football - regardless of our position. There isn't a single game where everything is perfect. We can't use our position in the league table to avoid 'moaning'.
Izzy Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I'd also suggest that even when the atmosphere at the KP isn't at it's very best sometimes - it's still a damn site better than most/all of the other grounds in the PL.

erlee Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 just a couple of cms - the goal-post.... a couple of cms shorter,,

My point is that we're passing to our own players and keeping the ball. Yet fans are annoyed at this.

Aeropars Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Personally, I'd prefer it if people stopped posting and creating threads telling others what to think, feel and say. This is a discussion forum and people can express whatever opinion they like.

Bettsj2 Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Not sure how anyone could moan at yestersay. Its one of the most attacking displays i've seen from us in a long time. Another night we win that by 2 or 3 goals.
Rincewind Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 It is the time of the season when there will be unexpected results. Teams are battling for points. Fully match fit players. We have had a great season whether it is top second or just top four. I would even have taken 6th at the beginning so anything higher is a bonus.

This is a discussion forum and people can express whatever opinion they like. You're doing exactly the same as the OP with that post, only worded differently. Surely the whole point is to discuss opinions, feelings and actions. If we just acknowledge eachother with no feedback, there'd be no discussion whatsoever.
johnny the fox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I've not experienced what you talk about try masturbating
Corky Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Not sure how anyone could moan at yestersay. Its one of the most attacking displays i've seen from us in a long time. Another night we win that by 2 or 3 goals. The crowd saw that and responded at the end. Not often a team top of the table draws at home to a bottom half team and gets applauded off.
chrishlcfc Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Unfortunately moaning is just in some peoples blood. I'll gives my uncle as an example: if we won the league by 20 points he would still moan about something. It is annoying, but he won't change.

Sionnach gorm Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I completely agree, but I also agree with others here. It is a forum and people will complain, discuss and argue (so what would be the point otherwise). I agree though that we have a great time here. Best season in recent memory (by far!!!). The team is playing well, and honestly we can't complain, even with yesterday's game. I am fecking happy. I still will be disappointed if we don't win the Prem, but FFS can't complain about the ride!
