HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Apologies if I've missed it elsewhere, but Radio 5 MNC had a discussion about who they'd have on a 6-man shortlist for PotS. We'll discount Motson, as he's absurd (only had Mahrez from Leicester, and made some frankly bizarre choices), but everyone else had 3 Leicester players at least, with Huth and Morgan both getting a nomination. I had been thinking that our players could easily dominate such a shortlist - one could easily make a case for Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, and the entire defence - but, joking aside, who would you pick? Payet made every list on the radio, it's hard to disagree.......
C-man Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I was thinking about our player of the season the other day. How is it possible to pick just one? If we were to win the league, I genuinely believe they should abandon the competition this year and just write every player in the squad's name on the trophy for 2016.
roblcfc84 Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 For me danny drinkwater has been the most consistent - obviously vardy and mahrez provide those moments of genius and significance - but danny is always good for 90 mins of every game

I agree - as I said elsewhere, it's such a pleasure to have so many favourites in the squad. I even like Inler, and he rarely gets in the 18!
Aus Fox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Only one player in the league in double figures for goals and assists.
MattCan Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Only one player in the league in double figures for goals and assists. and magic !
HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Author Posted 8 March 2016 I was looking for 6 players, and not just club PotY, but nationally. Not that you have to obey, of course.........
C-man Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I was looking for 6 players, and not just club PotY, but nationally. Not that you have to obey, of course......... Mahrez Vardy Kante Morgan Drinkwater Payet And I'm not even biased.
Viva Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 At the end of the day, goals win matches. So for that reason I think you have to go for Mahrez or Vardy. If Vardy hadn't got the 11 match run I'd have gone for Mahrez. But breaking that record maybe swings it to Vardy.
J.Lisemore Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I'm going for Mahrez, but it could easily be Kante or Vardy. Payet has to be up there aswell, Like our Riyad, he's a game-changer.
HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Author Posted 8 March 2016 Well at least someone tried. I go with: Vardy Mahrez Kante Payet Kane Ozil
LcFc_Smiv Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Kante all day for me, he's everywhere and wins the majority of his tackles, he drives forwards and has a decent range of passing, he only lacks goals.
Viva Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Well at least someone tried. I go with: Vardy Mahrez Kante Payet Kane Ozil I'd say that's pretty spot on.
Jimothy Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Mahrez, Vardy and Payet will definitely make the final 6. The rest will be out of Kante, Ozil, Drinkwater, Alderwiereld, Alli, Kane and Lukaku. Defenders don't often get nominations for this, that why I've not mentioned Huth and Morgan, everyone seems obsessed with how well Alderwiereld has played so that why I think he's got a chance. I was thinking yesterday this will be the first time ever we've had players in the top divisions PFA Team of the Year.
Bedford Fox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Vardy Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Morgan And Kante again I think that's a fair six
HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Author Posted 8 March 2016 Vardy Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Morgan And Kante again I think that's a fair six
MattCan Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 It looks like Leicester fans will go with Vardy. On the other hand, the media and the rest of the world will go with Mahrez. Hopefully, it is not Ozil who gets it.
Finnegan Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Ozil is one of the worst footballers on the planet when it comes to strength of character. He's got all the fight and bottle of wet toilet paper. For me, he's one man that perfectly sums up Arsenal and why they probably won't win the league. Started the season fantastically, looked like it was his and their year, then the pressure comes on and he and they melt. Clever footballer? Yes. Technical footballer? Yes. But when the going gets tough, match winner? Nope. Wouldn't make my top fifteen for the season let alone six.

Jakemoore Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Couldn't be just Leicester players, so I would go with - Vardy Mahrez Kante Payet Ozil Butland
Soar Fox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Fair enough. Who is on your list of 6? Aaron Ramsey James Collins Ashley Williams Andy King James Chester Wayne Hennessey Of course.
HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Author Posted 8 March 2016 Woy goes with - Alli Kane Dier Walker Rose Spurs Tea Lady (assuming she's English)
Finnegan Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Aaron Ramsey James Collins Ashley Williams Andy King James Chester Wayne Hennessey Of course. about right. Really? Kante Mahrez Vardy Drinkwater Morgan Huth Think about it. Leicester ****ing City are five clear at the top of the league. Of course we'll be accused of bias but if our players don't clean up at the awards then it just proves how shit the establishment is. They should win even if we come third. It boils my piss that Kane will probably win it if Tottenham pip us.
Number 6 Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I was thinking about our player of the season the other day. How is it possible to pick just one? If we were to win the league, I genuinely believe they should abandon the competition this year and just write every player in the squad's name on the trophy for 2016. I'd had this thought too. If we win it I don't think we should have a POTY. The point has always been that we're a team.
StanSP Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Bound to get Team of The Year at Sports Personality considering England will disappoint at the Euros as per.
