indierich06 Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 POTY - Mahrez YPOTY - Schlupp? GOTY - Vardy vs Liverpool SOTY - Kante He's 23 now, and he's hardly played all season? Got to be Dodoo or Chilwell if we're talking about the internal award.
erlee Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Player Of the Year : Vardy (if he is still top scorer) (final nominees: Aguero, Lukaku, Mahrez, Kante, Payet ) Young Player of the Year : Delli
Gerard Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Mahrez all day long. He deals in the commodities that matter the most in football, goals and assists and all from right midfield. The best player we've ever had.
desertfox2 Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Mahrez will win it. Ranieri will take manager and Alli will get young player. I'd say Drinkwater, Vardy and Kante all deserve nominations. I hope Drinkwater gets our player of the season. Think our player of the season will be which ever one of Mahrez or Vardy doesn't get POTY
fridoux Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 anyone who doesn't give the national and club award to mahrez is trying too hard to be different. he's been easily the best player. mahrez, payet, vardy, kane, lukaku & someone stupid like chris smalling will prob get the nominations. we'll all just have to assume everyone missed the T out of kante when kane gets nominated ahead of him. anybody else than mahrez and people in FT will be happy. sad to say but true.
HighPeakFox Posted 8 March 2016 Author Posted 8 March 2016 anybody else than mahrez and people in FT will be happy. sad to say but true. Absurd comment imo
ImBlue Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 How does Aguero get in anybody's? He's only scored in 8 premier league games! 5 of his 16 were against a poor Newcastle side. Name gets him there..
Guest ttfn Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 How does Aguero get in anybody's? He's only scored in 8 premier league games! 5 of his 16 were against a poor Newcastle side. Name gets him there.. It's not Premier League player of the year though is it? It's a celebration of the best footballers in England throughout the season. If anything I'd say Aguero's name keeps him out of a lot of people's lists. The guy's been the best player in the country pretty much since he got here (the one season you could make an obvious case for somebody else, Suarez won) and he's not even been in the team of the year once, let alone winning the whole thing. In all competitions Aguero has as many goals as Vardy in fewer games. Vardy is a shoo-in but Aguero is "only there on reputation"? If we're discounting goals scored in gluts against crap teams are we writing off Mahrez' brace against Sunderland on the opening day and hat trick against Swansea? Aguero's the best player in the league by a fair distance when fit and in form. Mahrez has been the best player this season (in my opinion, others are available) so should win the award but Aguero at 80% is good enough for top 6, no question.
Benguin Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I think the best 6 this season have been Vardy, Mahrez, Morgan, Kante, drink water and Payet. That said I doubt that'll be the list. I can only see a maximum of 2 being allowed in the list. So I think it'll be: Mahrez, Vardy, Payet, Kane, Alli, Ozil
TheSomersetFox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 anybody else than mahrez and people in FT will be happy. sad to say but true. Maybe we're just not biased, moronic Algerian fans who can quite clearly appreciate just how many of our players have contributed massively this year. We loved Riyad before this season, and we will for a long time. In terms of the 6 player list: Vardy Mahrez Kante Morgan Payet Alli/Drinkwater
Dickov22 Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Didn't Motson have Sigurdsson?! What's he thinking. Barely played nor reached the levels of previous seasons
Dan Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 Give it to whoever, the fact is Kante will intercept the award.

Not come up in big games like Mahrez and Vardy. 10 goals against bottom 4 clubs, of his 16 goals. Didn't show up in 2 games against Leicester, both losses to Tottenham, 2 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool. 2 goals from them 6 games, and at which point at both time they were already 3 down? Vardy Mahrez Payet Ozil Kane Kante

Yeah that Vardy is shit. Couldn't even score against bloody Swansea.

Should have had a penalty? That's how the award is done then. Count what everyone should have had? Tried to be smart, and did the same thing yourself.

ImBlue Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 yeah should have had a penalty. wasn't trying to be smart, was simply pointing out how stupid you are. Because I pointed out 10 of his 16 goals came in 5 games against the bottom 4? And in direct games against title/top 4 rivals Leicester and Spurs, he scored one Goal that was offside, and his side was already 3-0 down. They have lost 3 and drew one in them games. I don't get impressed by filling your boots against ragged aides and going missing against the big boys. Especially when you cost £50m and you're taking home best part of £200k a week most likely.. But of course we differ in opinion, which is fine. I remember Yakubu having a good record for us, but when he scored one he scored 2/3. Didn't help us in the other games.
ScouseFox Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 aguero vs the top 7: 4 goals in 9 games. vardy vs the top 7: 6 goals in 10 games. mahrez vs the top 7: 3 goals in 10 games. surely the fact that man city got battered in most them games proves he's even better a player, as well. pretty easy to score for a team winning by a few goals then for one getting twatted. and it still doesn't get away from the original point, this is for "player of the year", not "player of the games against leicester, spurs and liverpool". i wouldn't have aguero in my top 6 for the year but i'm not sure many can argue with his record.

Captain... Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 I think it will go to Mahrez, people who vote will not see him week in week out and will only see his incredible highlights reel, and not the times he's drifted out of games, not tracked back and given the ball away trying to do too much. He has also been more consistent in his game turning and match winning than Vardy whose incredible run in the first 16 games of the season has not lasted through to the second half of the season, injuries and other sides nullifying him being a factor. Vardy's work rate has never dropped whilst Mahrez has continued to score incredible goals despite teams putting 3 men on him. At the moment Mahrez shades it from Vardy, but Vardy has time to wrestle it back with a goal scoring run in. Then there is Kante, so crucial to our game, I think he will win our player of the season award and fans player of the season award, while Mahrez cleans up on the nationals, poor old Vardy will just have to console himself with his golden boot and goal of the season awards.
