DangerFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I see Spurs have just signed a new kit deal with Nike for £30million a year. I suppose this is down to there recent success. There original deal with Under Armour was worth £10million a year. I believe, but if wrong put me right, we are tied into whoever it is with the Puma deal. (Yep it's not even Puma itself and therefore we just get the box standard design). It's a shame our deal, if I'm right, isn't over at the end of this year. All being well and our oldest dreams have come true, we might've gotten a lucrative deal with Nike or Adidas or whoever and therefore allowing the club to put more money into the kitty. (If required that is)
AKCJ Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 But Puma aren't going to go "yeah they've won the league but they're still getting the same kit as darlington".
DangerFox Posted 9 March 2016 Author Posted 9 March 2016 But Puma aren't going to go "yeah they've won the league but they're still getting the same kit as darlington". Aren't they? We'll see.
Moksky Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 The deal is with a a Puma licensee called Genesis, who badge up a standard kit that they offer lower league clubs where no real up front fees are on the table. The true Puma deals are for clubs like Arsenal and Newcastle in England. The money that Leicester is a paltry amount, such as free gift of kit. To be fair it's pathetic. They are already tied into this I believe for another year. The kit quality is shocking, shirts costs less than £7 or so to produce. We need a better deal.
Stadt Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Genesis are dogshit, Nike please although they only do a bespoke kit in the second year of a kit deal.
GingerrrFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 There is an option to cancel the contract with Genesis. However it's very likely that "actual Puma" will be interested in agreeing a deal to keep us next season. Bespoke kits at the ready.
Moksky Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 It will be in place already, as production must be put in around Christmas for kits to be ready during early summer. it will be interesting to see who supplies the kit, as somebody will want shooting if City don't earn out of it. Thing is deals like this are done in the summer prior or latest before Christmas , they should have clauses in based on league position
DangerFox Posted 9 March 2016 Author Posted 9 March 2016 So it's looking like we need to have another good season following this already good season, to prove us worthy of a bespoke kit deal. We've had some OK/nice kits over the years but I can't ever really remember a top brand making our kit. Bukta were my first kit and I liked it the best before the illustrious Fox Leisure years!
Moksky Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Not sure what the deal is for next season. I will try to find out who is supplying it. It's piss poor no repeats have been in place since Christmas , most have been sold out. Maybe due to the fact the deal is in transition.
benmeysner Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I'm not a fan of those puma kits.. they just look like a overworn lycra tshirt which has gone baggy in areas.
EGBFitness Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I'm sure if there isn't a clause in the contract to terminate we can pay the remaining contract out and get a new deal with a manufacturer. I'm sure we will make a lot more money doing that than sticking with them another year for a template design. If we win the league and in champions league, why wouldn't Adidas, Nike etc want to design our shirts?
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Whoever designs the kit, I hope we order enough to satisfy demand. Shocking really they'd run out of main sizes so early in the season and not re - stocked up.
Samilktray Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Spurs sign with Nike and we're stuck with poverty puma. I'm done.
Staffs Fox Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Fear not people, we will be well on our way to negotiating a better deal with a proper supplier but these things take time and cannot be announced early, We are currently the biggest bargain and most attractive property in this market. All the big boys are already tied to long term mega bucks deals and compared to some of the figures banded around we will go for peanuts and we're being shown all around the world and next year in the CL. The initial cost compared with the potential revenue we can generate will be too hard to resist for the sports manufacturers The Genesis/Puma deal will still be valid next year and its too late to change but I fully expect a deal to be signed this summer/autumn with Nike or Adidas for 17/18 onwards.
Darkon84 Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Considering how long it takes our kits to be released, we've probably got until July to thrash out a new deal and get the kits made
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Surely next season's kit has got to have something special about it (if we win the league)? Can't just be having a template kit for potentially the biggest sporting accomplishment the world has ever seen
Len Finsbury Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 I think we should return to Admiral and help kickstart their return. We could design our own kit, have them make and supply it and re-establish a once Leicester company. Keep your identikit shirts, let's have something unique.
billyfox1 Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Not the most reliable I know but I have heard a rumour through a friend of a friend (who apparently works for puma) about a blue shirt with gold pinstripe template being made. He didn't know for sure but might be for CL only.

I get this but I think the whole idea is the money coming into the club. I couldn't care less who makes the kit, as long they put us on some sort of level as the top 6 money wise, we don't have an identikits and I actually like the kit.
bmt Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Would love an adidas kit rather than the rubbish we have currently.
