kingcarr21 Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 2 years to the day that we gained promotion to the Premier League. Sit down for a moment and think where you were and what you were doing when the results came in. I was sat in my car on my driveway for the final 10 minutes as I had just been to the shops. Then when confirmed I beeped my horn, got out and jumped around celebrating. Ran into the house and danced around the living room with the kids who were oblivious as to why I was so happy. The last 2 years have been an absolute roller coaster ride for all of us Leicester fans. Now lets cap it off with the most perfect of endings. COYB
whetstonefox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Watching Jeff Stelling getting excited on Soccer Saturday telling us Foxes fans we were 5 minutes from promotion , 2 minutes from promotion, seconds from promotion , you're promoted!
Amin Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I remember I had the Bahrain qualifying session on the TV and I was watching Final Score on my laptop. When the Bournemouth result was confirmed I felt so proud and was just running through my head all the teams and players we would play against next season and how this was the biggest LCFC achievement that I've seen as a fan. I was considering how long it may take us to become a top 10 regular like Stoke or Southampton. I didn't even entertain the idea of the Europa League let alone winning the bloody league!
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 A concerning sign of my ageing years.. I can't fookin remember!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 As I recall, there was a particular result which had to go in our favour for us to gain promotion on the day. When that result finished at Full Time, I remember my mate telling me we've done it, we're promoted. I was a little lost for words, I didn't really know what to say at first but I was absolutely buzzing to find out we've actually done it, promotion after ten years out of the top flight.
Izzy Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 A concerning sign of my ageing years.. I can't fookin remember! This!
Jimbo Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I had been away to Venice for the weekend, treated the missus for her 30th birthday. I missed the Sheff Weds game. I landed just as the game was finishing. I literally ran off the plane to get somewhere that had a decent enough mobile reception to check the score as the game was finishing. I didn't need to wait for the other results the next day, we all knew it was done then. In fact I don't think I even really bothered to check on the other games.
Corky Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Watching Soccer Saturday and remember the Derby match had finished and they went to Bournemouth v QPR as QPR had a corner which was cleared and then the final whistle. Cheered and was delighted. It really sunk in watching Match of the Day that night and realising we'd be playing most of those sides the next season. Superb.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Watching Soccer Saturday and remember the Derby match had finished and they went to Bournemouth v QPR as QPR had a corner which was cleared and then the final whistle. Cheered and was delighted. It really sunk in watching Match of the Day that night and realising we'd be playing most of those sides the next season. Superb. Exactly this. The realisation of knowing Leicester will be a Premier League side playing against quality opposition, and to know that we will be a feature on MOTD every matchday was an amazing feeling at the time and it still throughly pleases me now.
Koke Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I was driving down south and listening to talksport as the results were coming in. Our 10 year long exile from the Premier League had finally come to an end.
sylofox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I remember Mc Klintock and Pleat no wonder I am on anti depressents now. Who cares going to have a mafia party soon.

Gary Eatfood Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I think I decided we were going up the night we spanked Derby 4-1. The rest was a formality.
Aus Fox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 A concerning sign of my ageing years.. I can't fookin remember! I'm with you Col!
Fox42 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Was the Grand National on the same day we got promoted? I vaguely remember watching a horse race when it was confirmed...
AKCJ Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I think I remember watching a stream of a Bournemouth game, the result of which determined our fate.
Osavo Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I think I decided we were going up the night we spanked Derby 4-1. The rest was a formality. This. Still ranks as one of the best team performances I've ever seen from a City side.
cjslcfc Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Was sat in my uni house in Nottingham with my friends (mostly United and Arsenal supporters). Remember going absolutely mad when the final whistle was announced on Gillette Soccer Saturday. No one else seemed to share my enthusiasm! We had a house party at ours that night and, safe to say, I can't remember much past midnight. Thinking back to it. Imagine saying at that point that in 2 years time we would be top of the Premier League, clear by 7 points going into the last 6 games. I think that best sums up how mad this situation is...
