ImBlue Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 No I doubt he created this account on 19/10/2015 in anticipation of this moment That's exactly what I thought. The fact he is under 22 explains a lot. Naivety of the highest order.
MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 So he realises he's being a tool. Some people can just get caught up in the thought of all that money, and not really be bad people. How many hours would a student have to work in a regular (part-time) job in order to get to £500?
ImBlue Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 How many hours would a student have to work in a regular (part-time) job in order to get to £500? 80 as a guess.
GaelicFox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 You know I'll have to say a young skint man being tempted to make a few pounds isn't Right But we need to cut the kid some slack as well I'm sure he will live to regret it forever 80 as a guess. But a life time regretting it I feel sort of sorry for this story
Guest MattP Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 I'm getting a bit fvcking fed up of this argument to be honest, as if you're saying people aren't allowed to be angry that friends, relatives and others who can't pay and afford to be extorted by this emerging black market purely because "we all have a price". Well, fvck that. Nobody is going to make me an offer I would accept for my season ticket, I know this, and suspect you do too. I also know, as a football supporter, my blood is boiling at the idea people who would give anything (without necessarily having the financial means to do so) to see this game can't, while others will be able to purely because of their ability to offer the highest bid. Just because this situation happens to be a case of unrestrained free market economics in action doesn't make it right. Not one bit. Well said, it really isn't right that the people who will be able to see this game will be decided by bank balance rather than support for the side. If ever a match needed a priority system for attendance over the course of the last few seasons this one was it.
Head Honcho Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Has anyone got an idea of how many tickets the club has given to ticket agencies to sell on at a profit? One is too many imo and if it is happening then I see no reason why other fans cannot take advantage of our current status.

If ever a match needed a priority system for attendance over the course of the last few seasons this one was it. It's mostly decided on who is a season ticket holder, and if you had one before we got into the premier league you have no problem at all as all you needed to do was renew. Anyone else, zero sympathy.

If ever a match needed a priority system for attendance over the course of the last few seasons this one was it. Here here! I said in the other thread that i rarely get to games these days but still follow the City religiously! I saw more games in League 1 than i have in the prem over the past 2 seasons. But in no way shape or form would i expect a ticket with the current demand. Don't get me wrong, i'd love one, but when we have sold out every game, I know i'm not going to get one. I'm ok with that and will probably have a Party of my own (probably on my own) to celebrate IF we go on on and win the league! Has anyone got an idea of how many tickets the club has given to ticket agencies to sell on at a profit? I've seen hospitality tickets on sale from "reputable" ticket agencies so just wondered how they came about the tickets/hospitality they are selling.
Gerard Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 i'm sure they'll stop doing it now, well done I can't believe this post got 10 likes. What do you expect Foxes Trust to do? They can do little more than condemn and urge people not to buy. As a Gold member myself who couldn't get a ST at the start of the season because they had sold their limit I haven't got a ticket for this match despite having no problem getting a ticket all season. If touts or Leicester fans are selling these tickets for as much money as they can I'd like to see this followed up with their tickets voided without refund. How can someone like me not get a ticket when there are tickets out there going for silly money, it's not right.

philce Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 As a ST holder for 20+ years I am glad that I am not having to rely on the lottery that is going on. Remembering the cold wet nights watching Hereford and Crewe etc does make up for it!

philce Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Swindon's 2 late goals, as I stood there in the rain, seem worth it now. And we still had to queue for play off final tickets!!
ozleicester Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 It amuses me, how is it that the conservative capitalists on this site have such an issue with making a profit. Man has product, demand for product has grown, man sells product at a higher price. Surely enforcing sale only at face value is socialism?

Anyone else, zero sympathy. A huge portion of our season ticket holders now never set foot in the ground in League One or the Championship, they just had the time and money avaliable to buy one when we got promoted (remember the queue with 7,000 buying). Lots of people who can't have one who go to work on Saturdays etc but go to as many games as they can afford in whatever league we are in now can't get them because people who have a large bank balance can afford the huge membership price to get priority or can afford to pay the touts. If you think that's all fine then I'm glad I don't think like you.

Football isn't and never will be comparable to normal political life, if you think it is you should also argue that any true socialist should have walked away from LCFC as soon as we started spending more money in the Championship as we had rich owners, doesn't work like that in sport. You have some front to whine about capitalism though while the location under your avatar says "Kettering.. Adel... Perth....NW Leics... Perth" I imagine you might be benefitting fairly well from capitalism with that lifestyle.

I think the point is that many posters on here are happy to want to let the free market work - and in fact insist that it be allowed to - and then, simply because it's a circumstance like this suddenly take umbrage at the consequences of it doing so. It's a mite hypocritical.

Stop with your excuses, if you weren't renewing from the championship, then you were in a lottery. Personally I don't distinguish between any other fans, they are wanting the Everton game because of success, not because they've got a Saturday off.
Grey Fox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 No I don't I have a spare ticket and he doesn't even know as it was to be a surprise but I'm giving it for free to @@Mattyfox A top bloke who is a proper city fan who missed out on a ticket to Everton I wouldn't tout a ticket because I know loads of fans that would love one Just like everyone touting them know loads of fans That want one So your wrong buddy , you can't buy me and you can't buy my spare tickets ! I have no price @@Mattyfox Sorry to tell you like this I'm sure he'll get over it.
pleatout Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Was going to post an inflammatory statement about plastics and I'm a better fan than you - but won't, hold on just have. To redeem myself, can someone perhaps make this link a sticky, in a thread all of its own. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/38/part/3/crossheading/football Sale and disposal of tickets by unauthorised persons The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (c. 33) is amended as follows. In section 166 (sale of tickets by unauthorised persons), for subsection (1) substitute— “(1)It is an offence for an unauthorised person to— (a)sell a ticket for a designated football match, or (b)otherwise to dispose of such a ticket to another person.” Punishment is a fine up to £5000
smr Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 i'm sure they'll stop doing it now, well done From what I made of it the Trust were primarily more interested in finding out how the tickets were allocated throughout the priority/membership system, having a dig at a body of people with a bigger voice than just a single fan's is a bit silly. No one's happy with the situation. Or the alternative is they could just sit behind their keyboard sending sarcastic comments to the club, that might make the club review their ticketing allocation in the future.

I'm not looking to punt my seat on but if someone made me a silly offer and I accepted it then there is almost 0% chance of me being done for it. The law is practically unenforceable in this scenario, unless the "buyer" decides to sting me and report it. Otherwise I have "gifted" him the ticket and he kindly gave me a gift of cash at some point. As others have said, there is a world of difference between the classic "ticket tout" buying up wedges of tickets and touting them on and the individual supported who might be persuaded to part with his seat for a sum of money. I get that it is still illegal but lots of things are but people still do them.

Agreed, my point was purely about the ebayers etc. Most of us have let someone else use our season tickets when we've been unable to go. Either for beer, face value or just favour. I do object to blatant profiteering no matter how small the scale. I noticed a few weeks ago that Chelsea have an exchange scheme whereby they allow season ticket holders to return an individual match and be refunded. The club can then resell the seat.

Any individual can withdraw their consent to being governed (controlled) by the statutes of a society. This might involve their exclusion from that society and the loss of benefits, but when the imposition of the liabilities outweighs the benefits, then that might be a price worth paying. The choice is and should be yours. – Consent must be given by the individual and not by a collective on behalf of the individual – this would be dictatorship by the majority. There is no freedom in having to do whatever you are told. Each individual must have the absolute right to give and withhold their consent. This is the basis of our constitution – individual freedoms Wibble? Probably but worth it for a ticket haha
