merlin1969 Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Leicester City soccer club’s remarkable pursuit of the English Premier League title has even caught the attention of one Hollywood A-lister, as actor Tom Hanks hinted that he may just have placed a bet on the team to win the championship. "You know what I did at the beginning of the season? I put 100 quid (pounds) on Leicester (City) so I think I'll do okay," the actor quipped on Monday at the London premiere of his latest film “A Hologram for the King.” "You should find somebody you know, somebody local up there who decided to put 25 pounds on their local soccer club, they are going to be millionaires," he added. Leicester City started the soccer season with odds to win at 5,000-1, but has enjoyed an unexpected rise to become a top contender, with just three games standing between the team and its first ever soccer premiership league title. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-tomhanks-idUSKCN0XM2D2

Chester Dontlie Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 A bit too old to play Vardy's dad, even if he gets the accent right. Next!!
Brizzle Fox Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Did he pronounce us 'Lye-Chester'? He actually pronounced it correctly which is most unusual for an American!
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Tom Hanks is recognised as one of Aston Villa's most famous fans, though considering he only chose them because he "thought their name sounded like an island off Sardinia", it's not necessarily something to brag about. http://talksport.com/magazine/features/120726/unlikely-hollywood-football-fans-tom-hanks-and-villa-ron-burgundy-and-ch-177342
Vacamion Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 If we win the league, it will be big, considering that in 2008 we were on the road to perdition and were cast away in the 3td tier, almost the terminal point in our history, but Pearson made a big splash and now under Ranieri City are in a league of their own, as Wes Morgan delivers one of his captain fillips and says to the rest of the league catch me if you can. (apologies, I was bored waiting for a meeting to start)
