Phube Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Knowing now that all the chasing pack are a bunch of bottlers; depending on the final day of the season's results: We either won it at home to Swansea (76 points); if Spurs win. Or scarily; We won it at Sunderland (72 points); if Spurs draw/lose. That's six games to go!!! Either way, Chelsea you did us no favours at all!!!
Cornish Lair Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 With Chelsea drawing with Spurs, it just took the pressure off the game against Everton. The Leicester players certainly appreciated Chelsea's efforts by the celebrations at Jamie Vardy's house, and people have to admit that it was a brilliant goal by Hazzard that knocked the wind well and truly out of Tottenhams sails.
KP Fox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Of course we all know we won the league without anyone else's help but that Hazard moment will remain with us for the rest of our lives.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 If we win on Sunday and Spurs lose apparently we've won the league with the second highest points margin (13) ?
Dodgy Bob Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 If we win on Sunday and Spurs lose apparently we've won the league with the second highest points margin (13) ? Yes, but Arsenal will probably beat Villa so they'll only be 12 points behind regardless of Spurs. 12pts would be joint 2nd highest margin.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Of course we all know we won the league without anyone else's help but that Hazard moment will remain with us for the rest of our lives. This. We'd have gone on to win it either way but without Hazard's goal there'd have been no Bocelli performance, he definitely won us that at least!
kushiro Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 This. We'd have gone on to win it either way but without Hazard's goal there'd have been no Bocelli performance, he definitely won us that at least! I was wondering about that. Would anyone have swapped the Bocelli performance for the drama of seeing us clinch the title at the King Power? It's pretty hard to imagine us not beating that Everton team , even if Spurs had added a bit of pressure bu beating Chelsea.

Anything can happen in football on the day.

kushiro Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 No, shat myself enough times as a Leicester fan! Can you imagine if we'd STILL not won it now? I don't think I'd have made it this far.

It's pretty hard to imagine us not beating that Everton team , even if Spurs had added a bit of pressure bu beating Chelsea. The whole day really, the atmosphere in the pubs, town centre, around and inside the ground and Bocelli, it was like a cup final day where you already new we'd won well. It was a truly special day. If we'd have needed a result against everton you'd have had none of that, therefore it was much better that we'd wrapped it up before the game as Ive never experienced a day like that down the City in my life, it's one I'll certainly never forget.
Gerard Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Of course we all know we won the league without anyone else's help but that Hazard moment will remain with us for the rest of our lives. A beautiful goal it was too, as soon as the ball left his foot and your brain calculated the trajectory of the ball you knew it was going in. Unless you W37 D1 in the season your title hopes are always in someone else's hands so we won it but Chelsea helped us.
Gerard Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Can you imagine if we'd STILL not won it now? I don't think I'd have made it this far. My posts on here would be poison attacking all the "done and dusted" mob and the few that wanted Spurs to beat Chelsea so we could "win it ourselves". Thankfully it never came to that.
Bayfox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 We won it by being the best TEAM over the course of the season, to be fair to spurs they have been the 2nd best TEAM this season, but ultimately, So long as we finished 3 points above them by the end of the season, we won it at WHL.
stripeyfox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 It's easy to look back now, but I think Southampton at home was the "one" where I thought "we're going to do it". Although that quickly changed back to "oh crap, Spurs are going to win every game" when I got home. But yeah, I think at the end of the Southampton game - I really felt it!

That was a pretty special atmosphere in the ground that day as well, I think a lot of people felt we were going to do it then.
Phube Posted 15 May 2016 Author Posted 15 May 2016 There we go then, we actually won the league when we beat Sunderland away. 72 points secured. Game week 32! Sunday 10th April... (My birthday )
st albans fox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Spurs were going to take 15/15 from their last five. They got five points!
promised land Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Spurs were going to take 15/15 from their last five. They got five points! Shocking really, especially after they said they'd win every game.
