smr Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36262842 Premier League champions Leicester City are set to offer manager Claudio Ranieri a new long-term contract. Vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha will discuss a deal with the 64-year-old Italian, whose deal expires in 2018, this summer. "We will sit down together. It's not fair to talk now with one game to go," said Srivaddhanaprabha. Leicester, who started the season as 5,000-1 outsiders for the title, won it with two matches to spare. Ranieri was appointed on a three-year contract in July 2015 after Nigel Pearson was sacked. Leicester, who were almost relegated last season, are 10 points clear of second-placed Tottenham with one match remaining this term, having lost only three league games. Former England and Foxes striker Gary Lineker described their title victory as "the most unlikely triumph in the history of team sport". Italian Football Federation president Carlo Tavecchio said on Monday he wants former Chelsea boss Ranieri to coach Italy to a World Cup triumph in the future. Srivaddhanaprabha said of a possible new contract for Ranieri: "At the end of the season we will talk about that with him. "When we talk about something, it's long term, not just until September. "I like people to work for me when they are happy and enjoy working with the group of people." :scarf: Can he stay manager forever?
Tuna Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 '...and Vichai chambered one round into the pistol before laying it on the table. 'Ok Claudio. Lets negotiate.'
Sionnach gorm Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Currently Claudio's salary is one of the lowest in the Prem (circa 1.5 mil), clearly barring bonuses, and excluding the likes of Pardy and the defunct Monk. Van Gal is supposedly 7M and Wenger a little over 6M. The median average seems to be about 3M. It stands to bear that we can actually say we just didn't do well in buying players but even our manager.
stevelcfc Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Same old people getting a go on the managerial merry-go-round. He's a nice guy but it's mk rather than old Trafford next year I'm afraid.
sly1 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Going to be here for a long time by te sounds of it brilliant up the city
strider470it Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 What about a charity match between Leicester City and Faroe Islands to remove once and for all this thing from Claudio's CV?? :-D HE LOST TO THE FVCKING FAROE ISLANDS! TWICE.
ARM1968 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 He can't do any better than this season surely. Only downhill from here. I mean what's next? Retain the Prem title and win the Champions League. Bet you'd get decent odds on that, but not 5,000-1
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 What about a charity match between Leicester City and Faroe Islands to remove once and for all this thing from Claudio's CV?? :-D Haha yes! I'd settle for nothing less than 20-0.
foxy boxing Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Onwards and upwards so long as he keeps improving and evolving the squad that is what matters
