Blanchflower78 Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Quick glance on Derbys forum already large growing post for the removal of Pearson now after 3 games. Apparently they played like Barca pre-Pearson as this was the "derby way". Now reduced to kick and rush football like us and still suggesting they were unlucky in the 4-1 drubbing we gave em' a few seasons back. Entertaining stuff, hope Nige hasnt read it, someones gonna get it - kin' ostriches...
Corky Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 "Fans need to be realistic. We can't all be like Leicester. They are a top club with wonderful fans, this lot are pathetic"- Nigel Pearson, August 2016
Sharpe's Fox Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 The Arsenal of the championship. Complete car crash of a fan base who think they're entitled to everything when they've done nothing. Nige is the best manager they've had in twenty years and they find away to slate him.
eblair Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 derby fans... sigh one of them is saying pearson's track record is patchy, only manager i can think of that has delivered his target in every full season he has had and most half seasons another one claiming it was a one off when we stonked them 4-1... 102 points you clown
Sharpe's Fox Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 That was a one off game where they outplayed us... But did you see our makeshift defence that game? haha what a mug. For any derby fan reading this here's how we destroyed you and the best team you had in a generation in the space of 90 minutes
pSinatra Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 They seem to think they're Barcelona. Keep playing your beautiful football, with your highly talented players........in the Championship
Corky Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 How can it be a one-off when we did exactly the same the year before?
Carl the Llama Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Does anybody know what playing the "Derby way" even is? As far as I can make out it just means playing football in the Championship.

Mark_w Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Probably doesn't reflect well on me that I've actively missed telling people they're wrong about Nigel Pearson.
ealingfox Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Anyone got a link? I assume their forum is abject poverty but I fancy a chuckle.

Kitchandro Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 The Derby way The West Ham way was laughable enough. Why do these clubs who have had very inconsistent histories think they have always played a certain style of football? Like fans all over the world are envious of Derby County's ageless philosophy

ealingfox Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Instantly binning Will Hughes is pretty much cast-iron proof that he knows what he's doing. Christ some of these mugs are absolutely bonkers.

Donut Posted 15 August 2016 Posted 15 August 2016 Surely Derby were already quite close to promotion with their current players and style and just needed a little finesse touch to put the missing piece of the jigsaw in, to get the players to believe in themselves and turn the talent into a promotion. It looks like from reading a bit of their thread like theyve totally changed their style. Was this needed? Hes going to get it right eventually no doubt, its what he does, but it does seem a bit strange

The "Derby County way" may be champagne football, but it's not getting them promoted.

Surely its a belief that needs to be instilled that they are a very good side at that level and only need to find a couple of % extra to get promoted. He seems to be bombing out some of their more important players and changing the style quite a bit. Is this really what the situation calls for? Clement and Wassall for example were legitimately doing quite well with Derby too. At the end of the day there was not much point in posting my opinion on this, ill only get torn apart as anti Pearson anyway but it just seems like a strange approach to take from day 1 at a new club.

Although someone should sign up and tell them James Pearson was the best youth team player they've ever seen - just because

Don't worry, you make good points. But if you flip it around, Pearson is implementing a system which I assume is very much like ours which won the championship with ease. So it makes sense he's going to his tried and trusted methods rather than catering to a system which so far has been unsuccessful in getting Derby into the premier league. It makes perfect sense as well knowing the type of manager Pearson was for us, very loyal to his systems and only in our premier league campaign did he ever drastically change our shape.

We'd have beaten most of the Premier League that night. We were fantastic. 4-1 flattered them massively. Could've easily been seven or eight. Looks like they're suffering from the short-termism that we had from our lot when he got back here. Give him time and he will leave them in better stead, I've no doubt.
Sionnach gorm Posted 16 August 2016 Posted 16 August 2016 Tbh, some of the criticism of Pearson is spot on. Ultimately I hope Pearson is given some time to build a team. Unfortunately, patience is not a fans virtue.
