themightyfin Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 http://mobile.itfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/tom-lawrence-3280585.aspx Ipswich season long loan
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Should sell him. Never gonna be good enough for the first team.
Captain... Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Good luck to him Ipswich seem like a good club, he is still only 22 and can force his way into Ranieri's plans, but probably not this season, no point him rotting away in the reserves.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 You need an offer in order to sell lads........

If he's not pushing the first team at 22 - not even getting on the bench - then I highly doubt he's ever going to feature here. Should just sell him for the benefit of his career.

Should just sell him for the benefit of his career. Because nobody ever progresses after 22, it's all downhill from here. He's not been getting on the bench because he has been out on loan all last season and it is better for him to play in development games than sit on the bench and not get on. If we had no plans for him we would have let him go, but he has been out on loan and impressing getting numerous call ups to the Wales team. There is talent there, we just don't know how much and whether we can nurture it. He had a very good loan spell at Blackburn, not sure how he did at Cardiff, if he has an excellent spell at Ipswich then it will give Ranieri something to think about, we have no idea where we will be this time next season. Mahrez could have gone, and Gray (if he continues to improve), Kaputska could flop. We may have a very good player looking to kick on his career with one year left on his contract.
Wymsey Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Decent side for him. Won't be real pressure on him as Ipswich aren't one of the dominant forces in that league but is expected to show what he's about being an international. Sure Mick will treat him well and make him feel welcomed.

Didn't say it was all downhill at all but usually a player will leave to progress at that age. If we finish top 6/7/8 again I can't imagine a player who had a good season in the Championship will possibly replace players like Mahrez or Gray. Look at Chilwell, fair play he doesn't start, but he's always around the first team squad.
foxy boxing Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Can't see him getting near our first team so give him an initial loan and then if it works out sell him. Best for both parties

Ahead of Schlupp, Gray, Mahrez, Albrighton, Kaputska ... and that's without any new attacking signings between now and next season. If he was going to make it here he would have by now.
fuchsntf Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Nobody learns ln here do they... 22 yr old failure...Nugent, eeerrrrmmm, Vardy!!! eerrrm W.Morgan, eerrrm Antonio. The Only negative I see , is the season loan. I would put pressure on him and say loan 1st until Eo 2016. There must be expectations we gave him a number...
Wizerud Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 Nothing to lose from this. If he plays at a Championship level and Ipswich or another team wanna buy him outright at the end of the season it will work for all parties. We won't need him if that is his level. They'll probably pay close to what he's worth too. If he's shit, we've lost nothing. If he's great and shows Premier league potential, even as a bit player, we can have him back.
STUHILL Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 His last chance to show us if he can make the step up. If he sets the championship a light then we should give him another shot with us. If not, then sell him with a potential clause to have first option on him if he blossoms into a real player! I don't think he will but will keep an eye on him and Ipswich is a good move for him.
