RoyFox Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 Good work @ramadaone hope people respect this info. Clearly Paul Mitchell was the intended target but no doubt the intervention of a six month notice didn't help (and Levy). Please can we give Rama the respect he deserves, we have very little inside info as it is. Thanks

I am referring to an old post, like I said might be wrong but I'm sure I saw Mitchell and a signing had happened. The signing did but obviously the other didn't. No worries either way.

Head Scouts and recruitment directors do seem to move about even more than managers, whether new regimes like to bring in their own staff or they're egotistical I'm not sure. He does seem to have rattled up a few clubs given he's only 42 and seemed to be at Valencia for a fair while. Wikipedia does state that Ranieri has tried to get him before.

Did Ranieri work with him at Valencia?

Sionnach gorm Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 It seems like he is good. From my understanding a few other teams across Europe were interested in him as well. Ranieri credited him with fixing the "holes" necessary for him to bring Valencia up from the doldrums . Though I don't know this, I'm sure he came here because of Ranieri.
Ric Flair Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 Fez asked some Liverpool fan he knows on Twitter who alluded to him being crap. Superb.
Blue and white Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 I'd rather us not bring in someone connected to Ranieri just incase he leaves for whatever reason. It's bad enough the coaching staff leaving when a manager leaves the club nevermind on the scouting side too. Shame about Mitchell he seemed like a good fit.
ItalianFox21 Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 In Florence the town I am from we don't have a good memory of Macia...

But Ranieri doesn't seem to be the person to nuke a team after he leaves. Anyway, I think he'll be retiring after Leicester...or at least he says that.

Would this have anything to do with why Walsh moved on to Everton.
ajthefox Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 The minute I read about him working for Liverpool I lost all interest. Their recruitment has been dogshit for ages.

Dan Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 Liverpool is a transfer committee isn't it? I don't think he was ever a part of that. I do agree though in a culture of money wasting Liverpool have got to be just about the worst. I'd like to hope he isn't responsible.
dbtcity Posted 5 September 2016 Posted 5 September 2016 unearthing people like Torres and mascherano is hardly something to go over the top about, both were well established players before they even made the move to Liverpool
