DennisNedry Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Obviously Kante was a big, big loss. We're also missing Mahrez, the bloke who's replaced him this year wearing his shirt is dogshit.
foxes21 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 4-3-3. We can't play 4-4-2 without Kante. It's just impossible. 4-3-3, means Mahrez won't have to track back as much.
Jimmy Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 how long can we carry Riyad? we are effectively choosing to play with 10 men right now, I also agree we cannot blindly stick to 442 anymore, with Simpson injured and no natural right back to come in a back 3 with Albrighton to RWB might be a good choice
Fox96 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Can't believe it looks like we haven't prepared for the fact he's going to have 2 men on him every game.
Grewks Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Not sure Mahrez is the reason we 'fortunately' only conceded 4....

Hasn't Claudio said in the past he's not fond of 3 at the back? A shame really, because we have the players to really excel in that formation. And also, it'll let us move Mahrez into the middle where he can roam freely.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Would revert back to 352 or 433 442 just doesn't cut it without Kante.
mattandjon Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 I'd like to see Mahrez behind a forward(s) but accept that causes issues with Vardy/Slimani/Okazaki selections and that Vardy is better with a partner
Argarath Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Maybe this is the Rihid Mehrez that the Algerians are talking about?
TheMightySystem Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 I hope someone dosn't come in here saying that he can have a moment of magic that can change the game. When was the last time he did that? Celtic in the friendly I think. He needs to earn his place in the side, play Gray in the champions league and if he impresses then give him the start against Burnley. We cant keep playing players in the hope they do something, they should be picked based on form otherwise we are no different from England in picking the big names. Hope he finds form, maybe some time on the bench will do him some good.

LCFCFOX6190 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Gray was great against Hull wasn't he...

AlgerianFox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Mahrez will never be the same again for Leicester. As predicted he is fading away and will probably be sold to Barca in January. He wiil have to accepte a lower wage this time.
lcfc81 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Genuine question (as I can't remember), were we not playing 4-4-2 in the great escape?

You dont "fade away" and end up at Barcelona where competition for your place is f*****g Neymar and Messi The shape of the team need to change to get the best out of the players we have.
DelBoy73 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Problem is, Mahrez hardly has any service when he is finding himself in spaces. We relentlessly hoof it forward bypassing any midfield build up. And when a pass reaches him, he is always at least double-teamed, if not triple. Our pass completion ratio in the last third has been baffling for a couple of games now. The people slacking Mahrez either way are blind or just need a scapegoat. And also, where is last season's Vardy then ? He definitely should have scored from that Mahrez's assist, was it his fault for Vardy to have stormed it right at Mignolet ?
