Badly missing Mahrez

The only thing  we are badly missing is perspective. One swallow does not make a summer, nor does it deliver multiple major trophies. You should all be grateful this particular swallow flew at the right time and with the right flight and delivered the impossible.

Fight night has resulted in copus amounts of alcohol so prolly about as loaded as kitch is most Monday's at 1.30pm but get a grip lads. We ain't winning shit this year, Riyadh Mahrez is worth roughly half what you think he is, and our first target is 40 points. Liverpool away, hard ****ing fixture, it's not 15/16 anymore.

Sober(ish) me would like to add he is obviously a quality player who will win us games.

just not perhaps as good as some of you think (think some of genuinely think he's one of the best in the world which he is not)

Losing Kante and not replacing him with a similar player has totally messed this team up.

We now almost certainly have to switch the formation, the trouble with this is that we are going to have a

lot of unhappy players.

We have so many striker options I'm wondering where we are going to fit them in.

If we play 4-3-3

Your midfield is going to be something like Mendy, Drinkwater and Amartey, then a front 3 of Vardy, Mahrez and any one from  Musa/Gray/Albrighton and Schlupp.

Which means Slimani, Okazaki and Ulloa, will struggle to get a look in.

Our recruitment has been very strange to say the least, we have the nucleus of a very good side, yet where we needed strengthening badly RB and DM has now cost us dearly, it's almost like our plans have gone up in flames.

This is where Ranieri has now got to show all his managerial skills and try and find a way of getting the balance right again.

You are all expecting too much of him.

Rather than bemoaning his form, why not look at why he isn't as effective? Every match this season we've seen teams put 2 men close to him at all times, with a 3rd as backup. I honestly don't think he's doing anything different compared to last season, it's that teams have worked him/us out.

Other players need to step up and make use of the space that Mahrez creates.

Some of the abuse he receives on here is crazy. Careful what you wish for.

This is my take too. Some teams doubled up on him last season too, and/or get close. He's a tricky little buggar but he's slight and rarely can ride a challenge. Give him space though and he'll skin you.

He's not getting the service he was (for whatever reason), nor often the support and he's certainly not getting as much space as he was. None of that is his fault so cut him some slack.

In fairness to Riyad, I really do think he is well aware of his own abilities and where he needs to improve. He seems very level headed. I genuinly don't think he buys into the 'world class' tag (neither do I as it happens) nor lets it go to his head.

For me, I'll look for signs of him working to improve before I start dissing him.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH *pause* HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA Barca, maybe if he left after last season. The way he is playing now MAYBE he can wipe Messis ass?

What an ugly post, my God. Have you seen how Messi (aided by a plethora of world-class players) got his ass handled by a newcomer to LaLiga today? If that were Mahrez, you would have put more HA's in your fvcking post.

Again, we're missing Kante. He would sit in for whoever went forward last season. We haven't got that now and already missing it.

he was really good against arsenal so I don't know where all these "he's been rubbish all season" comments have come from.

hes been on par with the rest of the team bar missing one penalty. not quite sure why people want to hate our best player of all time but that's why we support leicester I guess. nothing's ever good enough.

Mahrez will never be the same again for Leicester.

As predicted he is fading away and will probably be sold to Barca in January.

He wiil have to accepte a lower wage this time.

Barca won't pay 10p for him at the minute

You are right...he is just too rubish for Barca or Real.

It has to be for another PL team in January then?

Imagine keeping a awful player like him on £150.000 a week for the next 5 years !!!

He looks a bit lightweight imo.

He can sometimes get beaten to the ball by another player that is more stronger, and can sometimes give up too chasing it.

What really upsets me is the fact that he is expected to play in the same level as other top players but. Not providing the same invaerment. You expect him to track back. Build the play. Dribble and unlock the defence and then. Score and assist. Like come on now. Is it his fault that the team lost by four

Away from home, scoring a goal should be enough for at least a point for a good side.

Defensively, shambles.

Congratulations! That is one of the dumbest things I've read on here, which takes some going.

Do enjoy a good Algerian break down the minute someone suggests Riyad Mahrez probably didn't have his best game lol

I never said that he had "his best game. I didn't even say he was good. He was meh. He played bad against Swansea. Did I say any thing. No. Because I know that he deserved that. I am only saying. If he is not getting the same service/quality as other game changers. Don't except him to provide the same end product

Didn't this happen at the start of last season though (albeit he had a better start), then had a bad game, dropped him for one game and them shone for the rest of the season.

God imagine if Slimani and Mahrez have a bad game and someone critisises them, we will have 2 million algerians here crying

Usualy Slimani has more bad game then Mahrez ;)

They might turn up good few weeks after afcom...in two weeks time we have world cup qualifier against Cameroon.
