Darkon84 Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 Right, I'm settled in. Tomorrow morning off work, beers, and snacks at the ready, including popcorn when it really starts to get going. Let's do this! What a start where the majority of people polled don't trust either candidate. Jesus what a time we live in! O_o
Nick Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 Voters saying the best thing about the election will it being over and that the campaigns have been an embarrassment for Americans who work in international business. One girl earlier on the Newsnight program said it had been awful and had split her family.
Ross-Kemp Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 Ric Flair voted for himself. What a great man

It really has been a campaign about slander, rather than substance and policy between two terrible candidates, but to allow it to split ones family is just plain pathetic and they should probably get a grip of themselves
pSinatra Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 I've had to switch over from BBC HD to SD. Andrew Neil's hair & make up is going to give me nightmares
Guest MattP Posted 8 November 2016 Posted 8 November 2016 Imagine being the poor bastard who has to draft Trump's concession speech..

I'm going for roughly: Clinton 320 ish Trump 210 ish (Not worked the exact mathematics)
Ross-Kemp Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Exit polls have got Trump for Georgia, Kentucky & Vermont, Hillary with Vermont.
Wymsey Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Feel quite sad being obsessed with all this. It could be a make or break for that nation. Glad we're under safe hands with Theresa May.

Just write rigged system on a page a few times, followed by I'm not conceding anything . Put your feet up. Have a coffee
leicsmac Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Expect the first couple of hours to be according to Hoyle, all reasonably safe states.
Guest MattP Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Markets heavily showing Clinton to win, although similar happened in a certain vote in June. Weird seeing Wall Street/Bankers wanting a Democrat to win, can't think of the last time that happened? Barry Goldwater in 1964?
Jimothy Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 South Carolina being reported as too close to call. Isn't that meant to be one that Trump should be taking with ease?

I remember the BBC said as soon as voting had closed that it was going to be very close and within 10 minutes they had brexit winning.

The first 30 mins was pretty much all about Farage conceding. They only started saying "it might be close" after the Sunderland vote came through and that was far higher for leave than expected, I backed leave at a longer price than Trump is now at a time after midnight.
ozleicester Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 shooting in Florida (edit Los Angeles), Mrs just walked in and said, whats all that about then? My response.... "Americans" shrug

Maybe I tuned in after the first exit poll then. I remember tuning in at the start of something.
Guest MattP Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 3million counted in Florida, 49-48 to Clinton

There was no exit poll for the EU referendum, it couldn't be done as the vote was via individual votes rather than by predicting swing seats.
Ross-Kemp Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 **** that's close. Ohio too close to call, NC as well.
leicsmac Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Clinton doing better than Obama did in 2012 on early counts in areas of Florida. Looking reasonable for her there.
