We are definitely capable of top 6. We've got some massive away trips out of the way and based last season we've only picked up 4 fewer points at the same venues. Now we've got a chance to knuckle down and work on our goal difference - last few games we've shown we're getting back to our best so top 6 is definitely achievable.

The Miracle: Part III - written off after a disastrous start sees us lose more games by October than we did in the previous season, Leicester quietly slip into gear and go unbeaten until the end of the season. Ahmed Musa breaks the PL record by scoring in 15 consecutive games. The Premier League title is won in the 93rd minute of the final game of the season ends an 8-month barren spell to poke home after pulling on his "lucky cast" in an attempt to get back to scoring ways.

Said at the strat of the season top 10, Champions League q/f and the Fa Cup back in the cabinet would be a great season.

I stand by that, although to be honest we could finish anywhere from 3-13 judging by the other teams in the league.

I think Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool will take out the top 3 spots. Chelsea and Liverpool with no European distractions will give it a red hot go, and if Man City keep Aguero and De Bryne fit they win the league for me.

At the other end of the table, Sunderland, Swansea and Hull don't look anywhere near good enough and look like going down.

Crystal Palace, Boro, Burnley and WBA won't be too far away and we should comfortably be above those teams.

7th-10th

Having already lost 4 games and surrendered a 10+ point advantage, it's hard to see us finishing above Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea.

They won't lose enough games - and even if we are stunningly consistent for the rest of the season, which I'm not expecting, I don't reckon we'll catch them.

Catching the likes of Spurs, Man Utd, Everton & Southampton is a little more feasible as they'll all drop a fair few points sooner or later, I reckon.

Arguments that we can move up:

- Our performances and attitude seem to be improving.

- We've already played 5 of our hardest games (Liverpool, MU, Cheski & Spurs A; Arsenal H).

- The Champions League should be less of a distraction soon (we'll surely qualify for the last 16 in the next 2 games & will surely not go beyond the quarters)

- Our likely participation in the Champions League last 16 will surely discourage key players from leaving in January

Why I've opted for 7th-10th & not 5th-6th:

- African Cup of Nations, mainly: will our squad cope for several matches without Mahrez, Slimani & Amartey (who might also need time to re-adapt when they return)? I'm dubious.

- Other concerns:

Will our ageing centre backs have the stamina for another full season at consistent peak form?

Some pretty good teams will probably be competing for 5th/6th (Spurs, MU, Saints, Everton?)

Kasper cannot maintain his recent form for a whole season, surely (and without Kante, our defence is under more pressure than last season)

Will some of our big names maintain their commitment in the spring if we are out of Champions League 16-17 & have no chance of making Champions League 17-18...& they may be considering a summer move?

This is one of those posts that looks stupid with hindsight, in May 2017, when we've gone unbeaten for the rest of the season and retained our title - or collapsed to relegation after a spate of injuries & January departures... :D

The league form suggests 11-14th obviously but if we can emulate lasts seasons desire, commitment, belief and quality (which finally shows signs of happening:fc:) then top 6 comfortably.

Like the thread says, only ten games played so if we get to 20 games and we're struggling near the bottom then a lower mid table position would certainly become more desirable.

Winning the league was an impossible dream come true so do we have to make sure we build on it or just be happy with a one-off orgasmic achievement?

We're already living the dream regards playing in the Champions league (and doing pretty well so far) but i feel there is a very good opportunity over the next few seasons to grow into a team that regularly plays in europe and finishes in and around the top four.

For all the realists out there, the reality is that last season all the big names were found wanting and theres no reason to think little old leicester shouldnt be up there.

I do like to build on my orgasmic achievements, and not consider them to be one-offs...

Constantly recalibrating here.

Start of the season my aim was top 7, few games in top 10, lower half now.

What next? Keep it simple and just say 17th? :dunno:

Mods - can you lock this please? I will do another one on 15 games but if it rises to the top now and people vote after 12 games rather than 10 then it will be distorted. It will not be capturing what it was supposed to capture.
