I'd forgotten how embarrassing we were going to be in the Champions League according to the experts.

1st club ever to keep 4 clean sheets in Champions League debut. Only us and Sevilla haven't conceded a goal this campaign.

3 wins and 1 draw from 4 matches.

We should be suitably embarrassed at that effort :scarf:

Match day 4 still top of our league.

We are shite and so sorry to the clubs we put out of the CL.

Fvck you all we are here and doing it. Yes we deserve it. Now carry on lads to Cardiff you can do it.

Despite us playing unconvincing in back to back CL games, it could be worse. We cold be this lot.

Has a club ever gone through the group stages without conceding a goal?

No. Never happened  I'd be surprised if we do it though.

Putting on my second hat as a fan of all English teams doing well in Europe I'm concerned at what Tottenham are doing to our coefficient! To think we were accused of causing long term damage to this before a ball was kicked, the irony that it's the media darlings who are the ones messing up. It's as if they have a problem with their bottle when it comes to important matches, who would have suspected that!

a lot of people will say we got the easiest group possible but you still have to go out and beat these teams. we have never played champions league before and as we have seen with other English sides it is a steep learning curve. for our first taste of champions league we have done extremely well and i would say have surpassed expectations massively. those fans of other teams that thought we would be bad for the premier league in Europe need to look at their own sides first and see that Leicester are giving it a really good go

When I saw the title I thought it was a Welsh thread "But"

Anyway, let's not get ahead of ourselves we've got lots to do before we get to May in Cardiff.

But the Dream remains on course....................feeling a bit deja vu

Déjà vu

Déjà vu, from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has already been experienced in the past. Déjà vu is a feeling of familiarity, and déjà vécu is a feeling of recollection.

Will I ever be that happy ever again      :dunno:

I work with a spurs fan who sez we have an easy group,

my reply was if you had won the league it could have been you in this group,

lets give ourselves some credit though,

we look solid, have never looked like losing a game, and I don't feel we've had to get out of 2nd gear myself, call it what you want but we're a good team

To be fair Spurs group wasn't the worst, they should have qualified for the next round easily

lets keep it real, brugge and copenhagen are championship standard, whether they are in the CL or not.

its a piss easy group but i get the feeling alot of opposing fans/clubs and media wanted us to fail badly.

cant ask for much more than 3 wins and 1 draw, 0 conceded

(even if we were fúcking wánk in the last game)

On paper it is an easy group but the reality is all these teams were good enough to qualify in the first place and in addition to that they have all largely had massive experience of playing around the world and having to deal with everything from travel, hostile atmosphere and all sorts of different conditions. We hadnt up to this season with this current crop of players.

BTW Legia held the mighty Real Madrid the other day and I remember Napoli lost at home to Besiktas. There are no guarantees with these European clubs and you cant take away how efficient and professional we have been.

Moving forward, its now really important we secure top spot now. We need that confidence to rise and rise...

Seriously, at home in particular, we can beat anyone. I'd even say we can do Barcelona if they play the way they did at the Etihad. Have also surprised a few with some decent away performances (ala Man City last season).

Very glad with the luck we had in the groups draw. As it could've been frustrating.

Might put a bet on the club to reach the semis as we're still considered as unknown quantity/quality to many non-English teams and may as well surprise them with how we go about things.

If we play as solidly as we did at times last season and on the odd occasion this in a 451 and have Vardy and Mahrez on that Balon D`or form then I reckon we too can beat Barca. I know people will say we are getting ahead of ourselves and we saw what they did at home to Man City and Celtic but they play such a high line and have some ropey defenders that I would fancy us scoring a few. OK they may score a few themselves but I rather play them than the more defensively organised teams like Bayern, Athletico Madrid or even Real Madrid.
