I find it ABSOLUTELY AMAZING that a team who won the Premier League in 2016 can start a game as important as this one with a central midfield pairing of Daniel Amartey and Andy King.

We would never have had a better chance to really reinforce our midfield as we did this summer. Players get bans or injuries. This needs to be factored into any top level squad.

To be starting with these two, again, today is beyond belief.

You're spot on. It's happened in just about every away game. Of course, some goals have gone in much sooner. But that IS how we are setting up. Try to defend, hope for the best, concede, try to somehow get back into the game.

Over and over and over again. Away from home.

Basically someone should send CR a video of the 14/15 season when we didn't create fck all and were rooted to the bottom of the league prior to going gung ho at the end

Amartey was alright today, he tried to move the ball quickly to get the moves going.

As for King he slows everything down and passes side ways or back.

Love King or loathe him, but  unfortunately he is a championship player.

I can see the fan boys are hiding.  I was so pissed off last week, I had a massive rant on the forum about our midfield duo and those people that day they are good enough.  And I might have been over the top

I'm calm, but someone has to be accountable for this shit

Yeah King and Amartey, I can think of at least 16 championship teams with better midfield pairings.

Catastrophic lack of foresight by the manager to leave us so exposed by failing to recruit and letting Inler and Kante leave.

Somehow we need to wind the clock back to 3 April 2015 when the clap banners were introduced and we went on a roll wit the Great Escape. Even then we had a decent midfield: Cambiasso, James, Drinky, Mahrez etc. Last year we had Inler but never really needed him. Now the cupboard is bare and we have possibly the worst midfield in the league. We will get marmalised by Man City unless Claudio starts to do something radical. I can't believe I am saying this but I fear that we will get a pummelling at Porto and ripped to pieces against City on Saturday. That same team we hammered 3-1 in February. Where did it all go wrong man?  Maybe we will soon "wake up from this dream".

Neither of those would get into any other premier league midfield, infact they wouldnt get in many Championship midfields, hence we are getting mullered every week.
