He pointed to the players shirt then mimicked the whistle being blown & pointed to his. Trust me, that's what he did.

Could it not have been that they were tussling in the box and he said stop pulling my shirt or the ref will blow his whistle haha. Either way, this was the least of our worries after that dross they served up tonight.

To be honest the worst part of all this is the Porto player, has anyone stopped to think that the poor guy had to take Hernandez' shirt, he's an abomination of a player.

That header for their 3rd lol constantly on the wrong side of attackers, can't pass for shit. He needs to go.

I'd start Hernandez ... playing for Coalville for the rest of the season ... !

Coalville just called and asked if you could get stuffed.

It wasn't too bad for the Porto player, at least he was going to receive a clean, non sweaty shirt!

A genuine shambles.

There was actually quite a sad moment in the 20 minutes between the final whistle and when we were kept in. Too tired and fed up to boo so there was just no noise.

Silence was deafening. Completely let the fans down tonight

Like I said above, you don't get it. You obviously don't realise why you even care about the club.

It's not the result it's the pride. Clearly he wasn't bothered we were being thrashed, he wasn't gutted or humiliated. And based on that he probably isn't bothered he won't be playing again for a very long time.

If he's bothered about who's shirt he's getting at the end it shows a worrying lack of professionalism, pride and respect.

maybe that's why we're falling then...'cuz you know what goeth before a fall.

Im not that bothered whether he asked for the shirt, its definitely a crappy overseas thing that has been going on for years and its difficult to turn his head into the way that the Brits would do it. Im personally more concerned with his performances.  The article below linked him to 4 decent sides before he came to us but he has shown very little apart from a strong long throw. He is hardly the angry snarling Ramos or PIque no nonsense style of defender though is he?! OK he was free a 4 year deal wouldnt have been cheap. Its about time he started putting some performances in and drag a squad of 20 with him!

Surely it's not too much to ask that a player fully concentrates on the game when he is playing - Hernandez was asking the player he was marking for his shirt while Porto were taking a corner. Sums it up really.

why does this matter lol. Am I the only one not fussed about a player asking for a shirt? In this circumstance, it's the least of the worries. If it was a corner that meant something, like protecting a lead or qualification mattered, then yeah have a go. In this scenario, who gives a shit?

Guessing You didn't spend £100s and travel 1500 miles for this one.

Fine him, send him to the reserves. Send a clear messsage.

Oh, and the rest of the team need to be forced to train in an enclosed environment for four weeks straight.

Only let out for PL matchs, no Christmas, no holidays, scrap all extras and amenities.

Welford Road prison?

Unbelievable. All this child abuse in football is bad enough, but we've got a player who's molesting fish?! :o

why would they be speaking in spanish in Portugal?

Wouldn't surprise me, tbf. Most Portuguese speak Spanish. Most Spanish do not speak Portuguese - but expect the Portuguese to speak Spanish, which tends to piss the Portuguese off.

Fluent in Spanish then are we?

Same old story on this forum, we've got enough to moan about without people fabricating a story based on emotion. Nobody was smiling, it looked like he was moaning about a grappling match they had previously to me

"Well son, that shirt on the wall over there is from Porto who in 2016 had the highest ever winning score against an EPL team, and that EPL team were also the current champions"

"Wow Dad, how did you get that"

"I'd rather not say son"....

you think I don't understand this about pride and respect lol? Give over.

How is it disrespecting the club in this scenario? The whole game was a farce today - they clearly could have played better and given an ounce of effort in that respect. Getting your knickers in a twist about a player (allegedly) wanting to swap a shirt isn't what you should be pissed off about.

If we're winning 5-0, and a player wants to swap a shirt with a player of the opposition, would you kick up a fuss then?

I give up. I don't think I could have explained it any clearer.

We were getting hammered so he starts thinking about who he wants to swap shirts with. Not about how they've let the fans down. Not about defending the corner.

The question you you want to ask yourself is why he considered who's shirt he was going to get important at that point in time.

I don't know how you can argue that it doesn't show a disrespect to the angry, embarrassed fans.

Except he was.

Hernandez was getting in his head. Excellent set-piece defending from him.

Because people like to see some professionalism and effort.

I'm sure the 2,500 who went tonight won't be happy to hear this.

My god I'm actually gobsmacked some people are ok with this.

IT WAS A CHAMPION LEAGUE GAME AND WE JUST GOT HUMILIATED IN FRONT OF THE WORLD.

How can you not give a shit?

You really are misery personified lol

Do we know for sure that he was asking to swap shirts or is this just usual FT hysteria?
