davieG Posted 23 December 2016 Posted 23 December 2016 Leicester City supporters can get into the festive spirit this Christmas with a free mince pie courtesy of the Club ahead of the Boxing Day fixture against Everton at King Power Stadium (3pm kick-off). As a thank you to fans for their continued support during 2016, the Blue Army can collect their mince pies on production of a valid matchday ticket or season card between 12.30pm and 3pm from turnstiles 19 and 32 - in the South and East Stands respectively - or from in front of the City Fanstore. Meanwhile, City are also treating supporters at King Power Stadium to complimentary t-shirts which will be dished out by Christmas elves at half-time against the Toffees. Foxes fans will have fond memories of the most recent encounters with Everton after defeating the Merseyside outfit 3-2 at Goodison Park last Christmas before the 3-1 triumph in May which preceded Wes Morgan and Claudio Ranieri lifting the Premier League trophy. FraserSorensen Posted 23 December 2016 Posted 23 December 2016 Nice gesture - would prefer 3 points but I suppose they can't guarantee that Before everyone gets excited about free t-shirts I'd imagine they'll be fired from cannons at the crowd!
Matt Posted 23 December 2016 Posted 23 December 2016 Yeah was just about to say I've heard about Mince Pies (Ta very much) but it's the first i've heard about t-shirt (which I imagine will be through cannons). Good, but i'd rather 3 points. However I was about to say before the Stoke match they've not gave any freebees out for while, that's not coming from a scrounging point of view but I think there was a stat/coincidence that whenever they gave something out for free we won.

Copenhagen we had flags too. Not bad I'd say, no idea what other clubs dish out but I doubt they get anywhere near what we do. The only freebie I'm interested in though are the gammon cobs we occasionally got before an early away start, no t shirt or wolly hat comes close to those.

Meh true, maybe i've been harsh (Wouldn't be the first time). I guess maybe its because i've only been to 2 (I think) away's this season so far (Tottenham and Stoke) not that I go for the freebies or a glory boy, just the way the cookie crumbles that i've only been to two away so far. Spose more than anything it ruins the theory I had that we hadn't lost when freebies had been given out though!
promised land Posted 23 December 2016 Posted 23 December 2016 I think your theory worked up until the community shield match. I'm sure they haven't issued as many this season due to the ticket price replacing that £200k or whatever it was all clubs got. These are away day freebies though, at home it's usually a bottle of singha. Man City, Southampton and Everton were last seasons weren't they? Still better than nothing though.
Lestoh Posted 23 December 2016 Posted 23 December 2016 saw one of the free tshirts we got at Burnley away in the Championship knocking about on a market stall a while ago
foxy boxing Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 I don't like mince pies but I guess I can take the t shirt!
ithuriel Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 Mince pie and a stamp on the hand like the cakes last time I'm guessing. T-shirts on the seats in plastic bags like at Wembley or shot at the crowd at half time? Still have the Wembley T-shirt in its bag, bit small for me.
kyleolly Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 We got free flags before the Porto game don't think many actually made it to the ground though

Buzzell Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 Well I have gave my season ticket away to my cousin because the boss wasn't happy about me spending boxing day watching football instead of being miserable round her mum's. So now my cousin is gonna think that's his t-shirt. He can fvck right off. I WANT MY TSHIRTTTTT!
davieG Posted 3 January 2017 Author Posted 3 January 2017 Quote After Leicester City fans snapped up thousands of free mince pies before the Boxing Day match against Everton, the Club have since distributed those remaining to disadvantaged local residents. City provided complimentary mince pies to the Blue Army as yet another mark of gratitude for their fantastic support over 2016 but, with thousands remaining at the end of play, the Club arranged for them to be taken to local care homes and children’s facilities across the region. With many given away to residents in Leicester this Christmas, others were also donated to members of the African Caribbean community and facilities caring for the most vulnerable members of society. Ruth Peake, Local Area Coordinator for Braunstone Town & Thorpe Astley, said: “Christmas is the time when lonely and isolated people feel it the most. After the Boxing Day match, it was a joy to deliver the left-over mince pies from Leicester City to residents of Braunstone town. “Many are unemployed, living on low incomes, lonely or isolated or living in other challenging circumstances. “I was also aware that some food banks and community services were closed over this Christmas period so I made sure I dropped off some mince pies to the local churches and community groups that will be there for community members over the festive period. “We all really appreciate Leicester City’s donation for the residents in the neighbourhood where I work.” Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/2016-17/lcfc-provide-cheer-with-mince-pies-for-local-residents-3498675.aspx#sBmD3kPo4oU5KwaO.99 PS , I never imagined I'd be using "mince" in the search facility.
