Champ Man 1989 - Leicester City

Probably a niche post but if anyone was a fan of the classic Championship Manager 01/02, someone with far too much time on their hands has remade it for the 1989/90 season.

What a dismal squad we had back then although I'm sure I can do better than Pleat did. There goes my Boxing Day anyway...

Mods - feel free to move to the gaming board but I thought this might appeal to some that wouldn't usually go on that board.

Keven 'Rooster' Russell and Gary Mills were decent players.

01-02 was probably the best of the lot for me.

What a team my 'cheat' Rushden and Diamonds team incl. Kallstrom, Bakirciouglu, Selakovic, Sigporsson, To Madeira (!!!) and...David Bell was!

Great memories of lost summers!

Did I really watch them?

a mate of mine lived in pleats old house on Francis st in Stoneygate... just a simple two bed terrace

the houe of Pleat...  we shuddered at the thought of what curb crawling shenanigans he got up to there

There was an actual real world outcry from the Portuguese national fans to give To Madeira a chance in the national team, only problem was he wasn't real and was one of those made up players they'd drop in there occasionally! National manager at the time had to to do a press release stating this lol

Did you not manage to get Zlatan in too? He was a monster in those days as a 17 year old!

Is it bad that I know more West Ham players than Leicester players from that screenshot?

I was deep in my travels, lost either in the jungles or deserts of the world....and Funny as it may be

thats exactly what I thought way back then, when english expats/backpackers/travellers Were gratefull that

in nearly every corner of the world, either through locals or brit-sport journals written by expats Columnists , one

came across Up-to-date football themes and games.

For many a city fan, one recognised the oppo team selection, more than our own.

Even when I look at that squad sheet now, I know , recognise and have them in my minds eye, the  W.Ham select

more than that of city's selection

I dread to think how much time and money I spent following that City team home and away. Rooster Russell was a trier and Mauchlen always gave 100% but that's a pretty shite squad looking back on it. Some quality players in that West Ham team though.

And Tony James?

Got man of the match on his debut for us, I seem to remember...

i also remember being at the ground trying to get autographs before a game when James turns up in his old Volvo and parks right where the team coach was going to pull up.. David Kelly shouts out to him "you can't park there, you p rick!"

lol
