It's All The Fans Fault.

Bought a programme at every game last season. Didn't buy one and for the first time this season we got a win.

 

Now I have no idea, in fact it's not me, it's you lot and your lucky pants/shirts/turnstile/car park etc.

This season the games have been so hard to watch in the main - because there's no adventure to our play most of the time.  

 

Unless I'm meeting up with one or more of my sons I'd just as soon watch on television now because what action there is at the far end of the ground can be seen more clearly, I can enjoy a pint and a roll at leisure and the television can be switched off if I can't stand what's happening anymore. 

 

Even as a youngster I always preferred playing to watching and with today's dismal offerings and attitudes I'd much rather play in a golf competition if my sons aren't going to be around.

 

Strange as it sounds I actually preferred the days when we tripped off to places like Accrington Stanley and spent much of the match laughing and joking with their goalkeeper.

 

Or Sheffield United when we went 3-0 down in the first few minutes and never stopped ribbing ourselves and everyone else in an attempt to keep smiling. 

 

Away days were a whole day out - golf, lunch, local sightseeing and the match, if it was an evening kick-off. 

 

Now I look on and can't help thinking of that television programme "Rip Off Britain".

 

Ours isn't the worst team we've had over the years. But this season it's been one of the most disappointing in every way and one that I can least identify with. 

 

Yes, I shall watch the United game. And pray for a minor miracle.

 

But I don't feel the least excited...perhaps because anything on top of nothing will therefore be a bonus.

 

I feel dejected. That we're now one of the richest clubs in the world but don't show any signs of celebrating that fact with our football. 

 

Money? Some have always said it can make you miserable. Certainly our performances concur. How many Premiership goals in January....?

I blame it on the mods! They delete Rachel threads too soon. How can you expect her to help us when you don't give her time to shine? No wonder she doesn't perform in these conditions... My only blame is not looking long enough for the better pics!

 

As for drinking, I'm trying to make an effort and drink more Cpt Morgan rum now than I did last season... I skipped it for a few games to see if it helps our results but Morgan's (as well as other defenders') form was just as dire and we still lost. Sober as a judge or pissed as a newt, I'm afraid there's just no pattern!

Having bought at least one city shirt every year since the early 90s, I have a collection of loads of them, but I stopped a few years ago, after which we won the Championship, so I carried on with the "not acquiring City shirts" thing, and we did the great escape and then we won the Prem.

 

Last August my missus thought it would be nice to get me a City shirt with champions' patches on-the-go sleeves.

 

Forgive her, for she knew not what she did...

I've tried everything. Changed turnstiles going in. Wear a different coat, sit in a different order but can help feeling my new shirt with Champions badges hasn't helped. I've had a good chat with and told him this is the last chance.
