cityfanlee23 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 EDIT ------------------------------------------- What would yours be? For me it would be Simpson - Benalouane - Wague - Chilwell Is benalouane even registered these days? If chilwell plays I'd put albrighton on to help cover.
Lcfcrory Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Prefer to keep Simpson in the team and drop Morgan for amartey, at least Simpson can defend if nothing else

He was on the bench so definitely registered.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Like to see 352 but unfortunately we don't have the players to do it.
daddylonglegs Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Drop all of the back 4. None of them have a case for being in the team. Amartey Wague Benny Wasyl Chilwell is the 5 to choose from. Can also play Ndidi there I suppose.
oxtonfox Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I would repeat what worked 2 years ago with a 5-3-2 or something. Put Amartey into the back 3; give Huth and Morgan help or a break at least. Albrighton as one wingback, maybe Chilwell other. Ndidi with two more midfielders and maybe 2 up front; Ulloa/Slimano, Vardy? 2 years ago we didn't have Kante; maybe we can try and repeat what happened with the Great Escape.

Well considering he was in the squad today I would guess that he is
EGBFitness Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Our defence is shocking but you can't just go chopping 2/3 players instantly and expect to see instant improvements. All we can do is take CR word for Wague too who he has said isn't ready too
desertfox2 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Simpson Amartey Morgan Chilwell If Morgan doesn't improve then drop him for Huth
funkyrobot Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Amartey for Simpson, Chilwell for Fuchs, a lamppost to replace Wes and a 100 year old oak tree planted on the edge of the 18 yard box to replace Huth.

How many times have you seen Wague play and Benny for that matter!?
foxfan92 Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 I know Simpson hoofs the ball pointlessly up field or slows things down when we need to be breaking fast, but I actually think defensively he's looking the most solid out of the back 4. I'd like to see Chilwell on the left. CBs ... I don't know. We either play 3 at the back to remedy the times the 2 we play with go to sleep (because if they could cut out these mistakes they'd be okay - but it's 2 or 3 times a game they find themselves out of position.) Ndidi might remedy that, but he's our best midfielder now and we don't want to lose him from there. If Ranieri thinks Wague isn't ready we're struggling for options. Would Fuchs manage in the middle? Who else is there? Benny is pretty much untried (at least since those few appearances last season) Was is even more past it, Amartey? Where can Mendy play?
cruzFOX Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Today I saw a team of players genuinely trying their hardest but allowing lapses of concentration creep in and in those moments getting ruthlessly punished. Huth and Morgan are now officially spent forces. Even when they have the chance to distribute they prefer to hoof it up aimlessly and even worse every single cleared header just goes straight to the opposition! Why do they keep repeating these errors? It's pointless football time to get a new back line ready in time for derby and stop the heamoraging quick!

The thing is, it really can't get much worse at the back, I wouldn't necessarily bring in both but something has to change at the back.

Why have them in the squad if they are not good enough for the pitch?
ChownLC Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Lets be serious our back up defense wouldnt be good enough either
dylanlegend Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 3 at the back Amartey Huth Benny 2 wing backs
dezza Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Morgan & Huth offering nothing ! You either drop them both or slot a 3rd with at least some pace in to help them like amartey! Otherwise possible 3 out the 4 change! Simpson wague amartey chilwell never seen wague but but did it why not, can he be any worse?
Max Power Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Don't really know why Chilwell lost his place, Fuchs has been appalling. If Huth was a horse he'd have been shot by now. Not Morgan's worst game today which says it all. Terrible Simpson probably the best defender by default but literally can't pass a football. If Benny and Wague can tie their bootlaces they are in for me

I think the players looked more like they were trying tonight. Why I think we may need to go to a back 3. I keep asking for consistency and keep saying we need to keep same 442 formation and get players used to their positions but I think Huth and Morgan keep making too many mistakes each game. Problem is I don't think we have anyone better. So do we add an extra man there to try to stop the rot?
