Keep Ranieri

I've given up hoping we will turn a corner, this is the most inept Side to win the title one season and make a pigs ear of it the next.

however Claudio Ranieri has never turned on his players and deserves great credit for this, some of the players performances do not deserve credit

save Ndidi Kasper and one or two others and think about a major clear out in the summer, whatever division we are in.

Leicester City are what I care about but I also want us to treat Ranieri the way he has treated us, with respect and dignity, anything other is a complete and utter disgrace

I think tbh, if we go down, most will go anyway. Either sold by the club at knock down prices, or due to contract release clauses. Players on 100k a week just won't be on in the championship. We will be shopping at Asda or Morrisons for players to replenish the larder, rather than M&S or Waitrose for the luxuries we can't afford. Which reminds me. I'm starving!

Ranieri buys players but doesn't play them in the EPL..let him be incharge of the academy

Do really think Ranieri buys the players? If he bought them I think they'd be in the team. He's always been very clear that his position is as coach therefore if he's handed a player he doesn't think up to it, he hasn't played them. I think recruitment is the last thing you can blame on him.

i don't know mate.. i heard on this forum he's been buying these players from Africa.

BUT if someone else is BUYING them by the truckloads & the coach ends up not playing them - then the system at LCFC is fvked!

Basically we bought 1 winning lottery & we cashed out ...  yes we kante

No doubt Claudio is a nice guy but he has shown that he has no idea how to change our form. The same players that let the team down every week are picked without fail. We looked half decent playing 433, so what does Claudio do? Change the system to 532 against Chelsea and get a spanking. What does he do next? Revert back to the 442 system that hasn't worked all season. Being a nice guy doesn't excuse the fact that he's useless. Shakey makes no eye contact with Claudio anymore, the players don't respond to him. I don't know what's going on but Claudio isn't blameless in all of this.

I think we stand no chance of keeping kasper if we go down. He's been a loyal player for a number of years but considering he's one of the best in the prem I don't think he'll want to waste a year in the championship!

I think you're right, there is a problem with our policy of buying players (whatever it is ). I believe in the old system where managers give a list in essence of what or who they want and someone else perhaps does the negotiations . Who knows how it works but whilst Claudio might have had a say in someone like Mendy who he knows, I doubt he's an expert in Mali or Russian league players.

I love Ranieri and I so desperately want him to get us outta this mess. But I'm afraid I don't think he's tough enough to make huge calls with certain players

We all know how this is gonna end.....

Posted

And yes he's made mistakes but so did the board last summer by handing out stupid contracts and basically creating unmotivated, passionless, arrogant cvnts who were once motivated, passionate players

This is just not CR's fault but some people seem to think it is!

He got us in the champions league can't sack him while we are in that. We should get through in the FA cup and have a couple of winnable fixtures in the league. We have slim Amartey and Ulloa to come back we will stay up. Keep the faith.

Once again..,how many people on here batted an eyelid when these contracts were being handed out?

I raised this point when they were being handed out...along the lines of WE were now doing what we'd criticised other clubs for doing.

Indeed, many people, if I remember, commended the revised and improved contracts saying that the players deserved them.

Now, people are suggesting, the club was wrong to do this.

Hows that for hypocrisy.

Keep Ranieri in the club, he's earned that, but as DoF.

Rudkin has shown himself to be utterly inept through two very poor transfer windows, while Ranieri has a wealth of contacts within the game as well as the ability to command enormous respect. I'd advocate moving CR upstairs to replace Rudkin, bring in either a new young manager now or Hiddinck until we can find such a man to do the job on a long term basis.

Unfortunately though, his tenure as manager has become untenable. He's lost the dressing room and there is clearly no way we can stay up if we keep going way we are. There's a world of difference between gratitude for what he achieved last season and sleepwalking to the Championship out of sentiment.

Yep he probably has, but he won't have lost the whole dressing room

We have kids out on loan (Lawrence) and others such as Gray, Mendy, Ndidi, Musa, Kapuska. Chilwell and the new guy.

Drop the ones he's pxssed off with and put them in the Team. Let them play in the Under 23s with no National call ups or Media money or Status.

And watch their Agents Squirm, I'll support the team who want to wear the shirt not the individual who doesn't.

You would hope he would WANT to get us back up into the Prem should we go down

that would be a measure of the man in my opinion

I support Leicester city not Claudio Ranieri Fc, I want what's best for the club and unfortunately it's not him.

Thanks for last season it will be a season I will never forget. But if he stays this will also be a season I will never forget for the wrong reasons.

I would like to think that would be the case but in reality I think that either way he's destined for bigger things.

He is a natural leader and a very good goalkeeper. A lot of clubs will be sniffing around him. I think the temptation of champions league football at somewhere like Liverpool will be too much for him to stay here.

who's got to go?

The Nobs in th dressing room who don't want to be there.

But that's not going to happen..................... Like Cesar everyone wants to stab him in the back.

Mutiny used to be punished by hanging and money, greed, envy, sloth just four of the 7 deadly sins that has caused this mess

We should add stupid to the list for the man who sanctioned £100k wages

Ranieri should not be sacked.  His winning the league accrued too much respect and honour.

Life is tough for foxes right now.  Ranieri may decide to resifn with honour.  The position of DoF may be a great solution.

There is huge risk replacing him as well as keeping him.

I thought the players put effort a plenty in today.  Confidence is clearly poor.

If anyone thinks Kasper will stay if we get relegated, they are deluded. Don't forget who he was brought up with. Imagine having the likes of Cantona showing up at the front door, to see your Dad.

He's a very ambitious man and an excellent keeper. For al, those people banging on about keeping Ranieri whatever, you may get your wish. If this team is relegated, it will be decimated. Should this happen,  I hope it will be what you wanted and you don't fookin whine when we are playing away at Burton Albion next season.

It's too simplistic: The players turned on the heroic Ranieri, which was unfair, so it's wrong that he be fired. It's like a Trump tweet.

Firstly, because the only information we have is a smattering of rumours, some of which don't reflect very nicely on Ranieri either. There's nothing which warrants Vardy being referred to as a 'scrubber' and 'lower class person', as some on here have, on the basis that he was probably (but almost definitely not) leaking stories to the press.

Secondly, because Ranieri has made countless dreadful decisions this season which could understandably lead to players losing faith in his judgement.

And thirdly, because a lot of the more aggressive attacks seem to be coloured by a belief that Ranieri won the title for the players, as if they were just passive observers. The statue of Ranieri could just as justifiably be a statue of Morgan and Huth, or Vardy, or Mahrez, or Drinkwater and Kante. How many of those names have I seen vilified on here this year (often by the same posters), going right back to June and July, in some cases? And often because of wild assumptions. Now we're casting them as the villains again.

If you expect footballers to be the sorts you'd have round for a chess tournament or introduce to Mum then obviously you're going to be disappointed. But this is the business Ranieri is in and, as unfair as it seems to all of us right now, he can't alter the nature of the footballer. We don't know who's gone beyond the pale, or how. So why are we pitting Ranieri against the players in an imaginary grudge match, replete with an imaginary act of treachery when, in truth, we haven't got the faintest clue who is to blame, nor what for?

What we do know is that a heroic set of players and a heroic manager have been mostly pathetic this season. If our priority is to stay up, rather than to 'keep dreaming', then that clearly has to change.

Just going to pick out this one point, we played a 4-3-3 and looked awful because we had absolutely no width which left Mendy going out wide on the overlap.

I felt VERY uncomfortable with what was happening

Yes they had won the title but it was still handled wrong. The board panicked and just handed out contracts like they were going out of style!

The trouble though is we never had the set up behind the scenes like a Southampton do, to say ok we will sell you and get someone either as good or better in. So we just paid them what they wanted

Our whole structure is awful, we need a complete new way. We need to look at what Southampton do as a role model imo. They don't get ruled by players! They have a fantastic set up

That maybe so but we got results,2 wins 2 clean sheets and 1 draw.

If I would be willing to see this for the rest of the season, and if the players are stabbing Claudio in the back, I would love to see Claudio stay, and a few of the players get their comeuppance.

In an ideal world Ranieri should have the key to Leicester and a statue built next to the clock tower. The players have let themselves and Claudio down.Player power should not win no matter what. IF they have fallen out with him,the owners need to take a stand nd comw out and categorically state they will not sack him then it's upto the players to put up or shut up.

100% agree with Raj, Time for every player to look at themselves. the Chair needs to categorically state that he supports the manager.
