ZeljkoKalac1 Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Haven't been on here for a while so apologies if this has been covered already. In reality how much difference would Kante stopping have made? Should he have signed his mega money contract like Vardy,Mahrez,Drinky,Morgan, Fuchs and Kasper, would he have stayed at the same level? He moved on and had to prove himself all over again at a bigger club with much better players....similar to what he did the previous season and has stayed if not carried it onto the next level, hats off to the little man. But, and it's a massive hypothetical but, would he have gone the way of the 5 players who did sign big money deals in the summer? You could argue Kasper has been consistent but thats it! the others especially Vardy and Mahrez have not produced to the level they are now being paid. Where do some of these players go forward from where they are? £90k £100k a week playing for City as the "top boys" with no real pressure or expectation? Vardy? he's made it as far as where he wants to be, no need to push on further. Kante however, wants to push on and challenge himself. If Vardy did, in truth he'd have signed for Arsenal....All the above mentioned players took an easier option professionally and it's showing. Watching the Swansea game yesterday i could only single out Gray, Chilwell and Ndidi to come out of it with any credit.....all players aiming to move to the next level, the "big players" not performing, although Slimani looked o.k when he came on. Just my opinion from watching the games this season but to answer my first question.....I think we'd be slightly better off but we would have held back a great talent.

HybridFox Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 It's an interesting one. He'd have made a vast improvement on our below-par midfield. Chelsea wouldn't be runaway leaders. But our issues are much deeper than that. I still think this season was always going to be struggle. Maybe he saw that coming and wanted out
The whole world smiles Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 A bloody big one. Close thread.
Corky Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 He would've improved our central midfield and defensive set-up but there are no guarantees that anything else would've been different. One man is only so effective with others pulling their weight. For however great he was, he couldn't do absolutely everything.

lcfcben76 Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Genuinely think we'd be top half with him, easily within the top 10 players in the world for me
ZeljkoKalac1 Posted 13 February 2017 Author Posted 13 February 2017 Think some of you are missing the point......I'm really eluding to the problem of last years top performers not being able to carry on their form once landed the big money contracts. Kante signed a bigger contract at a bigger club and has kept going! keeping Fabregas out of the team isn't easy..
st albans fox Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Cleary he had better advisors than we have management cos they saw what was coming and told him to get the hell out of here

If Mahrez had gone he'd probably be the same and we'd have the same threads on here about him.
Dr The Singh Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Could he manage the team better then CR, absolutely, my dead grandma has more motivation skills then CR at the moment

Tuna Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Another Kante thread. We haven't had one for at least 5 minutes.

Kaewbudda Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 He would have made a huge difference but he's gone now and never coming back so it's not even worth thinking about!
